What's the latest news with this cat? I'm under the impression he's going to do a Bosman & not leave Real Betis until he's paid what he believes he's owed. Is this correct?

As far as I know, Betis is of the opinion he still has a contract with them and Betis want some millions for him, as opposed to the view of Vogel and his agent, who consider him to be on a Bosman.

Nothing much Everton can do about that (except paying a fee to Betis).

I would imagine its dead now that we have signed Pienaar. Cant believe that two midfielders was high on Moyes list - maybe we just chased both to see which one came off.

If you click on this link,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johann_Vogel

It states that we are currently deciding if to pay a £1m to Betis in order to get him.

I know we all that he was free but for a million quid, i’d do it! he’s experience and quality will make a big difference in the eufa cup!

This fella is no mug, he’s played for some BIG teams and has got to the latter stages of the champions league. He has also captained his country for ages and the Swiss aren’t a bad team these days!

I’d pay it and get it done and dusted before hijacking BAINES for sunderland (look on the BBC gossip , according to the daily mail).

I also think Alan Smith is as good as ours.

Remains to be seen how much dosh we have left as smith is gonna cost £6m, unless they still owe us from the Rooney deal????? CAN ANYONE CONFIRM THAT?????

Don’t know about that Jeremy - Pienaar will cost us little money coming season, even if we have to pay his wages. I know he doesn’t earn that much.

But most importantly: they are entirely different players. Pienaar is an attacking midfielder, Vogel a defensive.

WHy does this always happen with Everton. It looks like we have something in the bag, than you hear nothing for a week, than ye see the little scallywag cropping up at hertha berlin signing for them or something. It’s bollox!! And Paul Wyness says we’ll have a few more in by the time the summers out? How many ye reckon we’l get? Paul Smith from the devils is a cert id say? Ledley Baines? We need some left sided soccer players.

Don’t bite on it lads, i reckon he’s a kopite.
Soccer is an American term, but bollox and scallywag are not.
Go away you muppet!

I was under the impression that he had said there was no-way he was signing for Boro. And to tell you the truth, there is no way he is worth £6m.I would take a gamble at around £3m.

i recon we should get smudger on loan for a season and then if he does the damage sign him up! if he doesnt then fuck him off

Not keen on Smith the work ethic thing doesn t cut it with me. Strikers should score goals and make goals simple as that and we ve already got one tube of skin up front who can t do that ! I have a sneaky feeling Moysies going to suprise us with some astute signings Baines being the first. We are a couple of good signings away from being a very good team indeed and I think he knows this and will push the tight board for the cash to push us up a level. COYB !!!!

According to breaking news on the bbc sport website, Baines has turned down a move to Sunderland.

At £4.5m, as reported in The Mirror this morning, the boy would be a very good coup. Local lad, only 22, a hammer of a left foot and some much needed stability for the left hand side.

Can somebody please shed a bit of light on his affiliations however. I was always under the impression that he was from the Dark side, but saw him at least twice outside Goodison Park last season both before and afer matches.

Us signing Baines is looking like it could well happen. Hes turned down move to sunderland.

hes a class player and will be a regular england international soon.

Nick, he is a proper blue mate. I know he still goes to watch some games and i am sure he is another player we released as a youngster from the academy.

I hope we get Baines even tho I do like Valente as a player, its just we dont see enough of him on the pitch! Smith is a strange one cos I dont think we need him for the money they are talking and he aint got a lot of goals in him! Personally I think we could see Moyes go back to 4-5-1,especially in the Uefa cup!

Paul Clays, your wrong mate.He is red through and through. He was in Liverpools centre of excellence.

I’ve heard conflicting stories as to who he supports, do think he was at everton when he was younger though, be a good signing whatever

20   Posted 25/07/2007 at 14:06:11

Paul,I remember him getting interviewed in one of my little lads footy magazines. So checked it out.He says he is a Liverpool fan.He used to go in the kop and watch his favourite player Robbie Fowler. He said he was gutted when nothing came of his time at Liverpools school of excellence. He doesn’t mention anything abourt being at everton.Would be a great player for us no matter if he does support the redshite.

21   Posted 25/07/2007 at 14:19:45

Sure how many of the red shite supported Everton as kids.. Rush, Fowler, Mcmanaman..

Even Paul Carragher said on Talk Sport confrontation that he supported Everton as a kid??

22   Posted 25/07/2007 at 14:22:27

I was just wondering if Pienaar actually knows where he is, or if he has got us mixed up with another club?He says in his interview "Everton is known for playing nice football"The lad must be a bit confused, good job he has already signed.
Connor Rohrer
23   Posted 25/07/2007 at 14:22:57

That Pienaar scored in a closed door friendly yesterday. Moyes obviously rate him and has got him in nicely. I recken Moyes is one of the best in terms of loan signings. Yobo, Arteta, Fernandes, Howard, Ferrari and Piennar has all been quality players. Some where signed and others wherent. Anyway Pienaar will offer us some much needed flair next season.

Jake, Paul Gerrard used to do the nets for us! Are you thinking of the Liverpool captain Gerrard??

It doesnt matter who you support anyway. Didn’t Shearer support Southampton and move to Newcastle to win trophies! ha.. some move!

Jesus Christ. The shit some of you worry about is beyond a fucking joke.LFC have today released plans for there new 60.000 super stadium while BK is dragging us off to Palookaville to play in a plastic shed. Why give a fuck about Vogel he isnt an Everton player and who gives a shit who Paul Gerard supports .Fuck me noi wonder the club is in such a mess with the muppets we get following us.

Brian..
’ was under the impression that he [Smith] had said there was no-way he was signing for Boro.’

Haha, do you believe this? Yes this is the same little shit who turned Judas on Leeds fans two weeks after declaring ’there is no way I will sign for them [ManU]’, the one team Leeds fans didnt want him to go to. Remind you of anyone?
I agree we need cover but ability wise Smith is average at best, he doesnt play much, he’s had a major injury, and personality wise I would say a prick at best. Yes, I am fucking sick of Man U rejects. Whats the deal this time? Do we get him on loan as long as he promises to score a neville when we play them twats? Is he only coming if his contract says he gets to play when fit (like neville)? Do we get a loan discount so long as sir gobshite gets to choose our tactics for crucial games at the end of the season?

If we fielded 11 manU loan players would you still support them? I dont think so. Do one Smith. Id rather have any of our current forwards (even mantits!)

Jake I give up mate I really do.
Where would you sooner be playing football in 5 years time. In a new ground on Stanley Park in front 60.000 fans with a new Kop holding nearly 20.000 or the Mechanno Dome in Kirkby watched by 30.000 and being embarrassed by the whole thing.

The Osterich mentality is killing
this club but as long as you all sing We Dont Care What The Red Shite Say things will be ok.

You will be caring what the RS say once we leave for Kirkby mate.

Tony, can I borrow your crystal ball? I quite fancy coming up on the lottery on Saturday, and I just need to see the winning numbers...

Bob I was on County Road today and seen a fella I know who is a Red.Seen our new ground Marshy Lad
he said with Echo in hand.Ye I said pile of crap isnt [lying].Better than that bag of shite your getting in Kirkby he say,s,anyway you wont have any fans left once the New Anfield is built mate all the kids around here wont want to know ye once your gone..For the first time in my life I was stuck for words when arguing with a Kopite and I didnt like it one bit..Perhaps its time to give in and admit defeat because deep down I knew he was right. As I have said before if we go to Kirkby then I am out of the game and so will my kids be.How many others will do the same I dont know but it will happen .You just keep kidding yourself it wont Bob
