Just because he`s an Evertonian.......

Just heard an item on Sky Sports News regarding Leighton Baines. Apparently, underland have agreed a deal with Wigan which will see the well-thought of full-back move north for a £6M fee. But wait... Everton have come in with an offer of £4.5M `on staged payments` and are confident of completing the signing because... wait for it... `Baines is said to be an Evertonian!`
Probably the same kind of Evertonian as Barton and Nugent. What world do these people live in?

Well aparently he has just rejected the Sunderland move, so maybe its not so mad after all.

Apparant bid from Moyes, Sunderland bid 6m but Moyes has gone in with 4.5 mil as Baines is a Everton fan and not keen on going to Sunderland. Report in the Mirror so probably it's a load of rubbish anyway but young and an Evertonian so ultimately this is the kind of player we should be buying.

Don't listen to any of the nonsense about Everton putting a bid in for Leighton Baines. Sky Sports news and some of the morning papers said we put a bid in for him. But that doesn't seem likely whatsoever, Moyes just picked the perfect day to say Nuno Valente will "reap the benefits of US efforts". When I and every other Evertonian knows there is no way such an injury prone player is going to playing all season, Lescott is a centre back and Boyle is just too young and by the look of things, and just not good enough.
It also looks like Kenwright was back with the usual Everton antics, putting last minute bids in a lot lower than the price already accepted, just like with Shearer and Owen.
Kenwright must have shit himself because we supposedly put a bid in of £4,500,000 last night for Baines, ALTHOUGH Sunderland had a £6million bid accepted. The rumours where that because Baines was an Evertonian he would request the move to Everton, so this means Kenwright tried to make it look as though we are after players, but after he realised he actually might want to join us, he shit a brick and got Moyes to say somthing about Valente.

Danny Collins played left back for Sunderland most of last season and he IS an Everton fan, just look up his profile on the Sunderland website. I’m guessing that we can afford him!

If he dont match the Moyes/Wyness valuation process, he dont get to play for Everton, its as simple as that boysngirls

Not that it matters who he supports really but I have just been corrected on another thread and apparently Baines is a koppite.

Oh boy, We are after Baines and he wants to come here as well.
Let's just hope that we are not stingy about him, as we were with Nugent. Baines is a proven Premier League player and he plays in a position that needs reinforcements. Add to that he is a Liverpool boy too.... Fingers crossed.

Clive, the big con is the thing called "rumours", 99.9% of which is generally poo.

By the way Baines is a kopite from Kirkby. He is a red and has admitted it before. I seen it on sky sports news but it is aboulute rubbish. Robbie Fowler was his favourite player when he used to sit in the Kop.

David Moyes has never come out and said "I want Alan Smith" its all paper talk which is all crap! Why would any club tell the sun or any other rag who they were going for? Plus how many times do you see a long drawn out story about who Newcastle or West Ham are going for with a little last line of "Everton have also expressed an interest"?
