Ever Get The Feeling ?

Comments (14)

Ever get the feeling that the great stadium debate is the best to have happened to David Moyes this Summer? I do; it's taken away the focus from his pathetic ditherings in the transfer market. Let's face it, this is a man who dithers in Mcdonalds when he orders a Big Mac!

I've said it before and I'll say it again even when the Bell's whisky was affecting Howard(god) Kendall he could do a transfer deal in half the time! As for Joe Royle or Walter Smith they just called up Sky, Radio City & all to announce the new boy, when nobody had even got a sniff we were in for anybody.

Who to bring in as this mentor or Director of Football to be politically correct.Let's take a look at who could help out here hmm..hiow about Big Joe or Fabio Cappello they don't need to be full time either as there are only 2 transfer windows, which would leave our very own Dithering Dave to concentrate on team matters such as defending free kicks, passing the ball on the floor to any forward under 6 foot!!

Joking aside is it only me that notices when these transfer windows come around that the normally very vocal Moyes tries to stay out of view? He was(in)famous for it at Preston that's were the dithering Dave nickname came from. Also he does seem to have problems with agents, money and anything else that goes along with transfers.

As for the Stadium debate vote yes, vote no but don't let it get in the way of the real issue the team.

Ever get the feeling we've been here before ? ...2005 anybody...

I’m not sure you can say he has "problems with agents, money and anything else that goes along with transfers" - do you not remember how we ended up with Tim Cahill? As I recall, Crystal Palace and more specifically their owner/chairman Simon Jordan baulked at paying Tim’s agent £250k as part of the deal. Everton swooped in, and picked up the bargain of the millennium (and Crystal Palace disappeared to the Championship).

I don’t think the transfer market allows many deals to be completed on the quiet, as the agent has every interest in opening up an auction on "his" player.

Anyway, I think DM’s reluctance to spend is due to lack of funds rather than indecision.

Moyes is probably one of the best buyers around to be honest.

Look at our first team just now. There’s not many better assembled teams for the money we spend.

I’m sure the majority of Everton fans would have preferred more signings but I’m glad we didn’t piss money against the wall by signing Reo-Coker, Nugent, Kouas...

Yes Walter Smith was fantastic. He didn’t mess around diterhing over who to buy he just went out and got his men. Without him we’d never have experienced Tiler, Ward, Cleland, Williamson, Farrelley, Madar, Bakayoko etc etc etc etc. The same goes for Kendall (III).

And as for your claims that players were just signed on the quiet previously, how well trailed was Pineaar? He only appeared on the rumour pages the day before he was confirmed (pending permit). Similarly, Vogel would have come in completely under the radar had Betis not started farting about.

Does that not give some indication that we can’t really predict what is going on behind the scenes so we really do have to just wait and see. Then, if come September, we are still not happy with the squad and signings made, let rip. At least let him work in the mean time.

This squad in no way resembles that squad back in 2005. We are much, much stronger today. We have made a couple of good signing in Jagielka and Pienaar, and signed that young kid Lucas for the future. We locked up Victor, Vaughan, Arteta, Cahill for many years to come. We just signed AJ, Lescott, and Howard last year. So we really haven’t been that quiet. And now we could possibly be getting Baines in as he has rejected Sunderland.

I have learnt that anyone who uses the phrase Dithering Dave is an Idiot, and you have proved it.

I bet you wanted us to fork 5 million on Koumas and Richardson.

Or how about Chopra.

This post has got to be the worst piece of poo ive read for a long time.

Your entitled to your opinion but come on!

Would you really want players like Richardson/Chopra/Koumas/Bellamy/Bent (the list goes on and on....)
signed up for the inflated prices paid??

Moyes has had little money - fact, since he took over and i think he’s done a decent job with it, The squad/team is better than that of 2005.

On a related (ish) note West Ham have spent £60millionish in 12 months and i would probably take two players they’ve bought - Upson and Parker (but not at the price paid).

Ladies and Gentlemen Martin Handley, another one with too much time on his hands this summer.

Moyes is an excellent buyer, he doesn’t waste money needlessly and he tries before he buys when he isn’t sure.

Have a think before you write such tripe next time.

Well Steve an excellent buyer who doesn’t waste money really !!
Simon Davies,Per Kroldrup,Dickie Wright,Li Tie,AVDM,Nuno"never fit" Valente and last but by no means least Jimbo "pie man"Beattie.
Yes I know about Lescott,Johnson,Howard and Neville.
But as for having no money get real he’s spent more money than any manager in Everton’s history.
And Stevie boy I didn’t say he was a crap team manager he should stick to coaching and as I said have the transfers given to a Director of football to.
Micheal N did I mention the likes of those players no I didn’t so beforev mentioning poo get the poo out of your eyes! What about Leighton Baines another signing to set the world on fire and he will cost about £5-7m mmm value not.
Too much time Steve for the next 4 weeks yes simply because I’ve earned it in the Gulf mate,so don’t start getting personal.
I’ve noticed you seem to have something to say about everything maybe you need a hobby!!

I have something to say about some things, yes, mainly because I’m sick to death of people slagging this club, it’s adminstration and it’s manager off.

Where exactly did I say that you said he was a crap team manager eh?

Get real.

Was I slagging the club off no I wasn’t I was simply stating my opinion that I don’t think the man is up to it in the transfer market.
But I suppose with your blinkers on and the fact that nobody’s opinion but yours counts it doesn’t matter.
Anyway I’m off to spend some of the cash I’ve saved up whilst I’ve been avoiding al qaida on wine, women and song well mainly women.
Did you tell me to get real?
Get a life mate!
To the rest of you fair minded people on this site.
If Beattie has actually scored today then there’s still hope!!
COME ON YOU BLUES!!

I don’t claim that my opinion is the only one that counts.
I don’t even say my opinion is right.
What I do not agree with is people who piss and moan about the club without foundation, who knows what is going on in the background, we could suddenly end up with five new faces at the end of the week.
I just think people should stop pretending to be football managers and leave the men that are qualified to do that job.

Steve Claringbold - Moyes makes as many bad buys as good. He certainly isn’t a great buyer of players.

AS for the dithering Dave tag - he dithered on a number of players that ended up at other clubs with Sissoko, Flamini, Agger and Essien are all players that we could have signed (not the like of Alan Smith or Michael Owen where we bid ridculously low amounts) who were all snaped up by other clubs and have played pivotal roles for said clubs.

As for him being a poor manager - of course he isn’t. He has made progress but the fact that we have been up and down the league table like a yoyo is bound to attract criticism.

Finally - all blues should be allowed their say. Insulting a fellow blue for stating their honest opinion is crass and shows you up in bad light. The man obviously loves the club and it pains him to see the dark side being successful whereas we falter.

For the record, I do not go along with the IMWT brigade who have such blind faith in the man. As for Kenwright and Wyness, they have failed miserably in finding new investors. OF course they should be criticised. What happened to the 24/7 boast that they would look inceassantly for new funds?
