Red or Blue?
Comments (9)
I just read a piece about the Wigan player Baines, it says he is a lifelong Blue. But someone commenting on the piece states he is a Red. However, if Baines does join the Blues for £4.5m that will be £8.5m spent on players who we have previously released as juniors. To our John, truce accepted despite never having been at war.

Overwhelming consensus is that he's a Red.

It didn’t matter much with Peter Red or Dave Watson, did it?

I dont see what difference it makes,he is a good player that would improve the squad and thats the only thing that matters.

John, football is full of instances where clubs make mistakes regarding players, releasing them only to find out that they were actually better than at first thought. Granted they don’t always buy them back at a later date, but I think that those who do so have different personnel at the helm.I accept
that there was no war, but a few feathers were ruffled on either side, and I have no doubt there will be a few ruffled in the future, so long as we don’t take things personally we should get by. Regarding a footballers allegiance, I don’t think it makes any difference, it would be a strange looking premiership if all the lifelong Liverpudlians joined Liverpool, there wouldn,t be enough left to man the other 19 clubs.

Robbie Fowler and Steven Gerrard were both big Everton fans growing up and the kopites haven’t had any trouble accepting them as their own.
Don’t see why we should have a problem with Baines, if the rumors about us signing him are even true.

How on Earth can we actually expect to get Leighton Baines?. Sunderland had just offered 6 million for him, then we offer 4.5 million..Its completely ridiculous to think Wigan will sell for that, they obviously rate him at 6 mill.. Would we sell a player for 1.5 million less than a club had offered the previous day?. I certainly hope not.. It didnt work with Nugent and it wont work now..

Kenwright is a joke. They’re only making stupid offers to show everyone they are trying to buy players. his up to his old antics again.
