Second Rate for the next 100 years.

Our proposed stadium is obviously a step up as far as facilities and capacity goes but when you look at Arsenal, Man U and Liverpool their new or proposed stadiums are a step up again. I guess it means we will not and can not be on the same level financially as these teams for the life expectancy of our new stadium which I guess is 100 years or so. We are accepting that we will be second rate from now on which is a shame.

As it has always been Paul the key to everything is success. The target has to be to get into the champions league places. We have done it before so it can be done. We just have to make sure next time we get some of the financial benefits of qualifying for the group stages.
I think its too early to comment on Liverpools stadium yet. From what I can make out it looks exactly like our kirkby stadium with a tacky body kit. I would be seriously upset if I was paying £300m for that. I thought the plans for the other stadium they had submitted were far better.

I agree with Barry,it is success that gets you places and sadly Everton have not had enough of it for a long time and now it seems we no longer have the time to wait for it before requiring a new stadium! As for being a second rate design, well just think what Goodison will look like next to Liverpools new 300 million pound effort in 2010(est),we could end up dreaming of being in a 2nd rate stadium and thats the sad truth!
