Stadium wise, comparing what Liverpool have unveiled to what Everton have proposed leaves the distinct feeling that we are getting something very ordinary and even worse in a location that will make us poor relations and kill us off ultimately.

As a fan originally born in Liverpool that's what would hurt the most. We are not the fucking poor relation, we are Everton FC and we were here first! We are part of the fabric of Liverpool as much as they are!! Without any soul and without maintaining our core fan base in Liverpool we are nothing. We are not flaming MK Dons for Christ's sake!!!

I think these two comments made by our friend Parry get to the nub of why moving the club out of the city would be disasterous in the long term:

"People from far and wide will be able to come to the stadium and get a glimpse both of the outside and inside. The area will become a tourist destination. It will be a world-class development for a city that deserves world-class developments."

Ask yourself this question: are people far and wide on arriving in the city really going to make their way from the centre of Liverpool to Kirkby? I appreciate that there is a nucleus of fans (me included) who who would travel irrespective of location but to pack a 50k-seater stadium we are reliant on those 'floating' fans and visitors to the city.

Finally and once more I'll make the point that providing supply and expecting demand to follow is a ludricous assumption. Success is a precursor to filling any stadium and even more so if you expect those additional fans to go out of their way, especially with a less convenient location outside of the city.

The city of Liverpool deserves a world class Everton, I'll settle for nothing less. Nil Satis Nisi Optimum.
