16 and I don?t count!

I?m 16. Just left school. Here?s two stories about how my ?beloved club? has treated me in the last 12 months alone. First, I?m actually registered disabled. Every now and again it?s dead difficult to reach my Season Ticket seat in the Top Balcony (before anyone says ?oh, you?re registered disabled but you?re in the Top Balcony hmmm?, well that?s where the best junior specs have been over the last few seasons and if it?s a toss-up between the views from the family enclosure or the lower Gwladys then it?s the Top Balc every time).

Anyway, as I say, it?s only every now and again that it's hard for me and most times I?m okay to get up there. But last season my condition meant that I was temporarily on crutches and there was no way I could cope with the extra steps to the top. So I asked the club what they could do. They were quite good and they sorted me with a ticket for the Park End. But the sting was that they then asked me to pay the extra £4 difference between a Top Balc ticket and a Park End ticket. Well, fair enough, but c?mon, how mingebag is that? Anyway, I just got on with it and I never complained.

Second, after having had a season ticket for four years ? it ain?t easy scraping together the cash, say from birthday or Christmas money, plus help from my folks ? I?m hearing that I can?t vote in the Kirkby ballot, despite the fact that I?ve got firm views and know my own mind.

So let me get this straight. I can leave school. I can get married. I can join the armed forces. I?m old enough to chuff up an adult price for a season ticket now (and full bus fares!!). I can pay NI. And if my name was Joe Royle, Franny Jeffers, Michael Branch or Wayne Rooney, I?d be old enough at 16 to play for Everton. But I can?t vote in this poxy election!!

And this is how Everton thinks it?s gonna retain the next generation? To my mind, this ballot is already flawed. It stinks. As does Everton.

The site already rubbished this talk. There is no age restriction for being allowed to vote. End of that.

I sympathise with you Chris. Sounds like a shit deal to me but sadly the supporters seem to come last in lots of issues with Everton but we always seem to grin and bear it. Hope you’re gonna stick with the club whichever way the vote goes?

Thats like saying that the goverment make desicions about education but schoolkids dont get to vote! Voting on anything always has and always will (probably) be that you have to be 18! Kids today, you all want to grow up too fast! :)

Just out of interest Chris, which way would you vote?

The "adult" restriction only applies to Evertonia members not season ticket holders.

Yes, Ian Ross have quashed these "silly" rumours.

I see he managed not to be a complete ass with his response as per usual replies.

Anyone know if theres any truth in the rumour that people with ginger hair are not allowed to vote?

Also, does anyone know how much a box of Just For Men is?
