The ICM poll run by Knowsley Council asked two questions, one concerning the retail development as a whole and one about the Everton stadium specifically. At 500 people it was a very small sample but 75% said they were in favour on the first question, i.e. of the general proposal to redevelop Kirkby town centre, while 51% were in favour of the stadium proposal.
So, it's more a case of Kirkby says" maybe" to Everton as 51% is hardly a resounding "yes".
The 75% opposed is the claim of either Kirkby Residents Action or the Rev. Tim Stratford, the rector of Kirkby, and was based on an "exit poll" of residents leaving the public consultations.

Beware - the OS is now in full spin mode. Apparently Mikky only stayed because we are moving to Kirkby. . . Do they think we are completely stupid?

As The Rutles? parody put it: ?Tell me what you think about this low-fat-diet-shampoo: do you think it?s crunchy, half-crunchy, or not crunchy at all? Yes, no, don?t know, I don?t care? It?s only a questionnaire.? Sophists, spinners, the lot of them. I mean, c?mon: ?Will it (a footy stadium and a bloody supermarket!) improve your quality of life?? they asked. Holymaloley, give us strength!

To criticize spin from the club is incredible considering the amount coming from the likes of KEIOC and, well, this very website to be honest!
The only two definites in all of this is that it’s going to be a very close vote and that the outcome will determine the future of Everton Football Club.
