Disgrace

I would just like to say that it is an absolute disgrace that a club like ourselves has to sell players to raise funds to buy. If figures are right, we have only spent £3M this summer because Naysmith went for a million. Where is the money? It's an absolute joke! I would like to add that I am pleased with the two signings we have made but was just expecting more.

It’s a simple equation, we either have affordable ticket prices, or we have more money to spend on players - we can’t moan about it both ways (which most people like to do). Until we are more competitive on revenues, we will never be able to compete with the ’big 4’.
The only way other clubs have managed to break out of this equation is to find a billionaire looking for a ’toy’ to keep them amused, and eventually they will get bored, pull their money out. Plus, I don’t see a long queue of billionare’s outside Goodison to throw their cash around.
Before we start bitching and moaning about having no money, consider what it’ll cost to get there

You’re right it’s a terrible disgrace to operate within a budget. Every manager gets told to sell sometimes even the likes of uts and liverpool do it occassionally.

Phil most teams do hit a point where they have to sell to buy but what happens when you have a miniscule squad and have to sell to buy when you need to increase the squad size?

hate to be a bearer of bad news and a clear reality check for some of our fans who are simply misguided individuals. we have been complainin for yrs that our club is run very poorly by chairmen past and present e.g BK an Peter Johnson. we have a rickity old stadium which is so old it could be described as a fossil and we havent won a trophy since 1995 (12yrs).
a club like everton shouldnt have to sell to buy?
considering we havent finished in the top half too often since the premiership began it is common sense that we do not have too much money in the bank.

Jesus, I only started really looking at this site over the last year. I would hate to see it after a bad season.
We came 17th with 38 points, sold out best players, were favourites for relagation, and came fourth...
We had Paul Bent up front for us and sold our best player at Christmas.
Stop yizzer whinging will ya’s ya bleedin pox

So the pennys dropped-we can t compete with even the half well off champ sides. I knew this when we let Fernandes go ........

Just a brief question on here to be answered please..Whatever happened to the live away matches on the jumbo screens at Goodison?.. We always used to do this for a number of years maybe showing three or four away games a season but over the last four years the idea seems to have banished..Can someone shed some light on this?
