Media circus

Comments (7)

I see The media circus, on the ground move, is under way. I have never seen, heard or read so many one-sided views from the local media.

Liverpool Echo, with the headline Kirkby welcomes Everton. Which is basicly untrue.

Radio city, Tom Cannon, Everton shareholder stating we will get relegated if we dont go to Kirkby. Not true.

On Saturday afternoon on Radio City sport programe, we heard views from Ratters and Reidy, that was it. No major phone in for supporters with alternative views.

Same with Radio Merseyside's sport show on Monday night all we got was cricket and rugby, not a mention on the biggest decision in Evertons history.

Today [Tues] The Daily Post, front page from manager, chairman and players, why we have to move to Kirkby.

So yes there's two sides to every storey. Well there's supposed to be. These decision makers won't be here in ten, fifteen years time, We will. KEEP EVERTON IN OUR CITY.

Andy Baker -- What a crass comment! Did it not occur to you that Colin may actually come from Liverpool and live in the Wirral?

I was born in Everton (off Great Homer Street) and lived the first 20 years of my life in the city. I moved away 23 years ago and have lived in many different places but I would still consider Liverpool "My city". Everton are my team in my city; or am I being a knob head?

relax Tom, it gets worse, i was born in Anfield and grew up by Stanley park, two years ago i moved to Kirkby. I see myself as a scouser born and bread. I have to add that when i moved to Kirkby i did not feel as though i was ’leaving’ liverpool, i just ended up having cheaper council tax and thought nothing of it until recently!

Not that it matters Andy. I was born in scotland road and moved to kirkby and spent most of my life there. I used to play were everton are hopefully not building a stadium. It was actually a refuge tip.

I have said all aong that i dont want a stadium....anywhere at the moment. Regardless of what KW says about transfer money not being affected, i cant help thinking hes a lying bastard tbh.

I would much rather be sitting here having already signed Baines, Smith or Nugent and maybe a few others instead of arguing about were we should or shouldnt build a stadium.

Its called distraction and Houdini was a master of it just like BK and KW. Let us argue about a stadium until 31st August then the transfer deadline has gone. Strange coincidence that date isnt it.....ballot papers 10th August and 3 WEEKS later the 31st August the results are out! Then itll be oh shit the transfer windows gone...and we were soooooooo busy with the stadium.

sorry btw colin, just trying to add a bit of humour befor

Spot on. In tonight’s Echo we have the Chairman, Manager and a number of our two top players saying we need to move to Kirkby. In fact 2 say that is why they signed extensions to their contracts. Ok, will any of the above mnetioned sign contracts saying they will stay at Everton (for ever)or until WE want to sell them or sack them. Of course they will not, some if not all will be gone by the time the stadium is ready for its first game. It will be us mugs turning up each game watching rubbish. Don’t be fooled by Everton, who can always turn victory into defeat. Don’t foget both Bains and the Sheffield lad were on our books as youngsters - but we let then go. Go with your instincts and vote NO until all possibilities have been exployed. Lets take out our frustration on Wigan on the 11th !!!
