The Brochure

The bumf is published and it reads to me that unless another investor/partner in the form of another Tesco, then the option is indeed Plan A. Wanting to stop in the city is something we all want, including the board, but it is just not possible, end of...
No other funding-No other option.
They hierarchy don't need to tell me Goodison has had it and it is as plain as day that we are potless. So, unless we all start chasing rainbows, with a shovel in tow, then Kirkby it is.

Although I am totally opposed to the new ground in Kirby - I am of the group who want a new ground to stay within the city boundaries - I just have one question about the new pamphlet that Everton FC have produced on the matter.
It says that the new ground is capable of handling big concerts and the like but if it did, would these profits go back to EFC or to Tesco?
And if not would that mean that we would only gain profits from football activities?

According to a quote from Bill Kenwright in today’s Daily Post, if the vote is "Yes", then the club will continue with its negotiations with Tesco & Knowsley, but if it is "No", then those negotiations will not continue. He does not say that if the vote is "Yes", that the move to Kirkby is 100% guaranteed. So, a "No" vote would not necessarily mean watching Goodison Park decay; with a "No to Kirkby" mandate, the club would be free to open negotiations with other parties for a new site - one within the city boundaries? Perhaps this provides Bill & Keith with a way out of the corner into which they appear to have painted themselves.

Mark,
You clearly didn’t take much persuading.
Does the lack of any financial information, any data to back up the assertions, use of the word "could" rather than "will", not worry you at all?
The brochure is designed for people like you to swallow hook line and sinker, and I just hope that there are 20,000 voters who are less naive.

I also liked the car park quote - every other element had figures by the way but the car park claims "Large areas of car parking will be available", if they want 40,000 at the match and 70% of that arrive by car then that’s at least 7000 car parking spaces, that’s a bloody big car park, I say 70% because the current transport links are shite and daydreams about the tram don’t fill me with excitement and either way wouldn’t come from the direction in which I travel.

The brochure does nothing to change my mind about the move to Kirkby,it’s still a no.Wyness says the move ’will’ increase our finances. But on one of the points, will any additional revenue be handed over to Moyes to invest in new players? He says"yes,’if’our turnover figure increases in the wake of a move to a new stadium"So on one hand he says turnover "will" increase. And on the other he says "if" our turnover figures increase.Which one is it Keith? Also,we know season and match ticket prices will go up so why doesn’t he just say so?Instead of just skirting round the question.

The brochure says quite clearly that no "deliverable" site has been found within LCC boundaries. That means: no site funded by someone else such as Tesco and Knowsleys.
All I want to know from all you anti-Kirkby voters is: who are the major investors for the sites within Liverpool? (Remember: we are talking tens of millions of pounds here. Remember: they have had years to come forward.)
Please please tell us. Because if you don’t know, and vote against Kirkby, you are voting for "chasing rainbows" (as Mark says), rather than for building a new football stadium and a more solid financial future for the football club we all love.
Again please: WHERE IS THE MONEY COMING FROM FOR THE OTHER SITES?
If you can tell me, I will vote "no" as well.

Neil your yes vote is safe, I get the feeling Bestway are jumping on a bandwagon they just happenend to see outside their window and thought what the heck lets see where it takes us and that they have no idea what there getting into. They’ll go back into the blue as fast as they’ve come out of it. The Tesco deal is in front of us it’s crystal clear, LCC & Bestway are clutching at straws. This will just muddy the waters and put the stadium back another 5 years. I’ll ask again what’s in it for Bestway? as they ain’t doing for the love.

Good to see the pro-Kirkby posters online when Everton are playing at Goodison.....
You ask "what’s in it for Bestway" - doesn’t the same apply to Tesco?
You think the Tesco deal is crystal clear? Maybe you could explain it to Wyness, because he seems to be changing the figures by the minutes. The brochure says 999 year lease, the website says 199 year lease. Either way, we don’t own the ground, but it’s a typical example of Everton not being able to get even the basic information straight.
There’s nothing like enough info in the ballot brochure for anyone to be able to hand on heart say it’s the deal of the century, or even of the decade. There’s nothing there at all, in fact, other than spin.

Tesco get 1 shop in Kirkby and possibly 1 on the site of Goodison, that’s what’s in it for them.
I want to stay in Liverpool, I want to be at the Kings Dock or what’s wrong with the old festival site down Aigburth way you could get 4 stadiums and 6 Tescos on there but it seems we can’t have that land. So sadly we have to go where Tesco goes.

Barry,
Why do we have to go where Tesco goes, if it’s not the right place for Everton?
There’s nothing wrong with staying at Goodison and waiting. I was there last night, and I can assure you it is a long way from falling down!
Let’s find the right offer, rather than the first offer.
