Will someone please tell me who is going to score the goals for us next season? It won't be AJ. Will we ever see a striker at Goodison score 25 goals again (over 15 would be nice). I mean it's as if Kenwright and Moyes are going out of their way to repeat the European antics of two seasons ago. The Red Shite must be laughing till they piss their pants.

Service is the key, Joe. I do believe that AJ will score goals given the service. The question is, do we (or will we) have the players to provide it more consistently than was the case last season.

If my memory serves me correctly the only teams that scored more goals than us last season are the teams that finished above us (d’uh)..so I guess the players that scored 52 goals (only 5 less than the RS) last term could be expected to score them this season.

No Joe, they are just getting their amusement from coming on here and telling us we will have signed certain players by 3pm
To answer your question, I think Johnson could definitely get 20 goals providing he doesn’t get victimised again by an array of refereeing tits

Your response is bollocks,Lyndon.AJ is a good player but will never score 20 goals in a season if he plays till he’s 50!He snatches at opportunities and hits keepers on 9/10 occasions.A steady 12 a season man at top level is AJ.WE NEED A STRIKER!

Don I think your being a little harsh. how many players for any premiership club in recent history has scored 20 goals, especially outside the top four? The only one I can think off we are currently trying to flog to Sheffield Utd. I know so many are crying out for Alan Smith but he isn’t actually that much better than McFadden, he just doesn’t lose the ball as much!

Why will AJ fail to score goals? He scored plenty for us last season while playing on an ankle that needed surgery and missed the run in because of it. Not to mention all the penalties that the head of the Referees has admitted he should have been awarded, something like 8-10 I think it was. So what exactly tells you he can’t score goals, when his history says the complete opposite.

Have faith, AJ will score the goals.
I may be going out on a limb as well but if Biffa stays I expect him to have a resurgence and start banging them in.

In all honesty, AJ is not a 15+ a year striker (and I said that originally without the hindsight of a premiership year). We did let one last season slip through our fingers though; Benni McCarthy.
There are strikers outside the top 4 who can put that away, given the service. But we dont have them. Neither is Alan Smith such a beast.
However, I do expect AJ, Vaughan, and Anichebe, to score around 30 goals between them (AJ > Vaughan > Ani). They are all competent premiership strikers, just not the creme de le creme. And we cant afford the best strikers, as at current prices proven premiership material is going for £10 million +, with even risky-overseas players going for around the £7 million + mark.
We need defenders and midfielders first and foremost - our 3 decent strikers will put enough away, especially with Timmy popping a few in from midfield and Jimmy Mac’s guest appearances.

Sack the board - tight arsed w@nkers- they make Everton FC the laughing stock at the moment - y do they moan about other clubs paying over the odds? - Well I would like to tell them that this is the Current Market - Just like the price of petrol - we have to pay up if you wanna succeed. BK pull your fingers out your arse and sort it out. If I was DM i would quit if the Board don’t support him. we did the hard work to qualify for europe and now we will be embarrased again. I really hope i’m wrong.

Joe,Why the paranoia about what the RS think?
For god’s sake we have our own agenda to concentrate on. I don’t know of another website which gives that lot so many mentions?
For F...s sake just concentrate on Everton, currently we are not in the same ball park financially so what the hell does it matter what the think?

Just watching the game tonight and some things struck me. We need reinforements-Baines was in the crowd which must be a positive espeically as Valente was useless tonight(even woeful at times). Arteta is absoltely different class. Great feet and vision tonight but we need more creativity and a bit more class in centre midfield(need I say it Manny is needed asap). We are crying out for a decent target man to help out the willing AJ. If we get these we will be firing on all cylinders but without them we ll be mid table at best as we re so one dimentional.

Valente at fault for both goals and constantly looked shakey. Surely not a first team player ?

"is a good player but will never score 20 goals in a season if he plays till he?s 50"
2004/2005, he scored 22 goals in 35 games for Crystal Palace. In the Premier League.

aj would have scored 15+ goals last season had he not been injured and taken the penalties.
