The Mail Bag

Beattie Testimonial

Thought that might grab the attention...

In all fairness he did have a bit of get up and go, maybe even some passion when he first arrived but James himself has lowered his standards to be worthy of a lower division and should rightly so, go down there to benefit a club who have put more than enough faith into him. If thinking straight, he should see the benefits of being able to excel with less competition, therefore boosting confidence and game play for his own future... which, let's face it, is the priority of most Premiership players these days. Stop kissing badges unless it's yours!

I see your point, but I also see Beattie’s point when he thinks "I earn a decent 40 K a week and I would be stupid to willingly half that amount".

We can only hope some club is willing to offer him the same wages, or at least somewhere in that region.
