The Mail Bag

Biffa BBC picture

The photo which the BBC website uses for James Beattie is class isn't it? Do you think they could have possibly chosen a photo where he looks more fed up? Maybe dabbing his eyes with a hankie perhaps? Or holding out his flat-cap and begging for more. Poor Biffa.

I still can’t believe we’re getting £4m for him after the last few seasons he’s had. Stunning business - especially if Alan Smith only costs £6m-ish. It’s essentially Beattie + £2m for Smith - i’d snap anyones hand off for that deal.

Sky reports The Blades are in ongoing negotiations with Beattie and expect to have a deal at the end of the week. Would be great news, IF we spend the money on another striker who’s better than JB.

Allan, two seconds after hitting the submit-button I realised that I just wrote "who’s better than JB" and that this would surely attract some beautiful responses. I’m impressed with your quick response though! ;)

My guess is we’ll pay 4 million to Man Utd for Smith and another part of the Rooney-transfer will be used for the remaining bit of the asking price.

Is she a plain nan? If so that should curry some favour!

Kenwright finally acquiesced to the demand of an extra packet of Jaffa Cakes a week and two bingo cards.

A DJ at Jermaine Pennants party confirmed she is on her way today.
