Time for Change

We have been harping on about a ground move for as long as I can now remember. We have already had the Kings Dock vote (which leaned towards a move) and we have been subject to countless other rumours since then.
Now we have a real deal. We can move, albeit outside of the city boundaries, but we can move ? and move to new facilities, new capacities, new investment.
I am not necessarily agreeing with Wyness when he says things like "an extra £10m a year" because that's hype and it ain't come Middlesborough's or Sunderlands way yet. However, I do feel that Goodison has had its day and is now a graveyard of yester year, has beens and over expectation. Its falling down, its not a patch on many of the stadiums in the league and it can't be easily expanded upon (although the atmosphere is the best in the league!).
KEIOC have produced plans ? apart from the fact that they have about as much aesthetics as Peter Kay's rear end ? they aren't viable. The lads at KEIOC have potentially shot themselves in the foot. No Money talk, no investment talk ? how are we going to pay for such a stadium? LCC aren't going to put up the money, Everton haven't got the money and tesco can't build a superstore.
I'm sorry to upset those hell bent on staying in the past but there really isn't much in the way of alternatives.
Sentiment aside (and there is a lot of that ? people have been married at Goodison, had their ashes scattered etc.) Goodison is a relic, a fossil of our former selves and it's time to move on.
