Reasons to be cheerful?

I find it strange that there is such an air of optimism on this site. Whether this is down to club stooges or just blind loyalty to the triumvirate that is Kenwright/Wyness/Moyes I have no idea. There is a real crisis at our club. We are about to embark on a Premiership campaign where all participants have received a significant cash injection. Most teams have gone out of their way with this money to improve their squads significantly, whilst others have struggled to tread water or just to keep the banking wolves at bay. I really don't know where we stand.

In the last few months we have cut loose Davies, Weir, Naysmith, Wright, Pistone plus a handful of youth players and you can also add Kilbane to that mix. In that same time we've signed Phil Jagielka and a couple of youth players. Don't for a minute count Fernandes or Pienaar, they don't belong to us, and probably never will. The Vogel transfer has been conveniently ignored since Betis wanted £1m and though we were in the hunt for Baines, I always thought we might sign Smith with the proceeds of the Beattie transfer. As it stands, it looks like the Baines transfer is subject to Beattie leaving.

The way I see it here, we have a net senior squad loss of -5 though for those blinded by the crap that Pravda constantly feeds us I'll accept -4 if you include Pienaar (a LOAN signing). Add to that the loss of Vaughan and probably Cahill to significant injury layoffs, Joseph Yobo and maybe Victor away for the whole of January for the African Nations and we are in severe shit. The teams around us have improved significantly, and we are relying on that dogged Everton spirit and the Moyesiah to pull us through.

So, expect an early exit in the UEFA cup and a bottom six finish on the cards — at least there?s Kirkby to look forward to eh?

You can see this, I can see this, why can’t those that run the club see it?

At this rate, we’ll be moving into a new stadium with the team in reverse gear. And we’re expecting to improve gates?
