The Mail Bag

Not the Best Start

After just witnessing Newcastle sign their 6th high profile club striker (Alan Smith), I am devastated that the staff at Everton (in my opinion) did not do enough to sign him. We are selling Beattie and are left with AJ and Anichebe to realistically start the season with. Why on earth have we blown our transfer kitty on two fullbacks (nothing against them but I am a believer of leading from the front), but I can see us battling relegation or even worse, producing bore draw.

Cahill is out for the start and shockingly, Captain Phil has been playing as an attacking midfielder. I'm disappointed and I'm gutted we never got Smith or even made a move for Bojinov who was a bargain. It's not good enough!

Don't get me started on Kirkby. If we go, i will be heartbroken, choice or no choice. Somebody is bleeding this club and i just hope that those 11 players that are fielded against Wigan play out of their skin because I have a ticket and after all my moaning and whingeing, I want to see my boys play like Brazil next season. But I feel we are behind the pecking order before a ball has been kicked because we havent been creative enough in pre-season.
