KEIOC Proposals?

Has anyone been to the KEIOC display today?
I went there being in favour of the move but went to see what the lads had to offer us. They have clearly put a lot of work into their campaign but I left St George?s Hall in no doubt there is no real Plan B or Plan C, just a lot of ifs and buts.
The Goodison rebuild is clearly a non-starter; no costing, no details on how it would be paid for and no information on how it would clear health and safety hurdles during the rebuild. Let's face it, this totally incompetent council has just cancelled the Matthew St festival with only 3 weeks' notice on Health & Safety issues. So rebuilding a stadium in such tight constraints (terrace housing all around) whilst keeping attendances around 40,000 and ensuring its cost effective — the answers were simply not there.
I was surprised but the Loop proposals where relegated to a small corner, but when you listened to what was on offer it soon became clear why. The main stumbling blocks appearing to be the reliance on LCC giving us additional land on top of the Bestway Land, this would need retail investment, a couple of miles from the new shopping centre, very doubtful? Again when pushed on what companies have expressed an interest it was clear there is none.
I know this is an emotive issue but if you plan to vote against the move please don?t do so thinking KEIOC have given us real deliverable alternatives, because they certainly haven?t. I?m glad I went to the display because any doubts I had have now gone, I?ll be voting Yes to Kirkby.

You’d be gutted if you voted Yes, thinking the Loop and anything else was out of our reach and then something emerged late that would have changed your mind!
Due to the lack of time, it is likely the Bestway / Loop proposal will only develop later rather than sooner.

It is also highly likely that the full extent of the LCC/Bestway proposals — which will rival the Teaco contribution of £50m — won't be known until the nearer the end of the balloting period so the advice would be to delay posting that ballot until we've seen everything that is on the table. The decision is just too important to dismiss these alternatives until they have been fully presented.
