Do the Board have any aces up their sleeves
Comments (6)
Does anyone else here think that the board must have a few tricks up their sleeves in regard to transfers? Surely if they don't sign any more players, then there will be enormous pressure on them to explain truthfully why there weren't any more buys. I know Smith has signed for Newcastle, and we probably didn't make a bid, but I feel we are missing the boat here.
The board must be aware of the frustration of the fans, no one is that oblivious. Apparently, even Mikel is wondering what is happening with our signings. I think (hope is nearer to the truth), that the club will make at least 2 more signings, 1 of which will be a surprise. Please!

I used to be 100% for the move to Kirby, now, realizing what our board is made of, I just don’t trust them at all.

Mikel, Tim, AJ, Lescott, Yobo.... turn out the lights on your way out! Ive held back on the dramatics & panic since the last day of the
season but really it only takes one player to breathe discontent & others wil follow.
Scenario 1: Your a world class player, youve played your heart out for a full season, more than most because youre involved in a small squad. Daddy Warbucks promises the earth, squad numbers, fresh exciting faces & a plan to push on. You sign a new contract & on the 1st day of the season your squad is smaller, the business end of the club has managed to buy someone they released already & you embark on an embarassing foray in Europe with even less a squad due to injury & no cover. You get to the end of the season, finish mid table & no European football. A big club comes in for you with a can do attitude... hmm. EFC sell, announce a good profit & splash out 5% of the proceeds on Franny Jeffers.
Scenario 2: The prospect of going to work every other Saturday, dodging people carriers & having your new Bugatti scratched by shopping trolleys, having the Big Issue sellers inflating their prices & playing for Tesco Wanderers doesnt quite fit with your idea of playing in top flight in a big city.

Time after time we are lied to and misled and I cant understand where all the sheep get their view that Bullshit Billy is good because he’s a blue through and through. Why the deadly silence for the last 3 months except to announce the new signings Arteta and Cahill.
I was ridiculed on this site by the optimists for casting doubt on EFC’s transfer business but unless there’s a few rabbits we dont know about it looks like we’ve been let down badly again.I am more concerned about the morale of the players and the reputation we have gained as a miserly club with no ambition.Oh how I wish for a backer who can see the potential at EFC.
