Pissed off

Comments (14)

I'm getting real pissed off now. Every club under the sun is buying players and we've not done anything to bolster the tiny squad. Yet again, are we on the verge of wasting our chance in Europe we worked so hard to attain. What's the fucking point?

Aye..I am as well Dan...ok Smith isnt the best striker in the world but I would have loved to have him on board as personally I do like him and what he can bring to a team...but off he goes to Newcastle to join 5 other quality strikers...fucks sake!!! Now if we get rid of Beattie, even though he is a waste of space that leaves us with AJ, VA, and what McFadden to start the season up front. Smashing! If AJ gets injured...is Moyes gonna stick his grandad up front or what?! With the UEFA cup coming up we could be well and truly in the shite.

There should be some medical term for this kind of transfer related stress. Sometimes I think it is worse being linked with players for weeks on end before missing out rather than not being linked at all. Truth is we don’t know the true facts of potential targets and the press are always looking to fill space which leads to a lot of frustration all round.

Todays post says we have tabled a £10m bid for Luis Gonzalez. He is Porto captain, centre midfield and attacking right wing; current Argentine international. Again doesn’t sound like a Moyes deal but you never know. I can’t believe we have no money. Moyes has always had money to spend even when we finished 17th. Lets just be patient for a few more weeks and see what transpires. I am still hopeful of incoming but it is a painful waiting game.

A term for transfer related stress...Haha like it Barry... Yeah mind boggling where all our money is. We really are the paupers of the premiership yet we definitely shouldnt be..as we are a massive club...this is getting beyond a joke now!

I must admit when you see the incoming transfers then it doesn’t make good reading. Although Aston Villa have signed only 2 players so far and that’s with Randy Lerners big bucks and Martin O’Neill at the helm. With European football on offer -it’s just more annoying that Moyes bigged us up before the transfer window opened, as a club players (surplus to the big 4’s requirements ie cast-offs) would want to join. Except we can’t compete when it comes to wages - but we have a wage structure and are not willing to forgo that - which is no bad thing in itself. I still (blindly maybe) believe that we will sign another 2 or 3 players - of what quality who knows...

Everton are on the brink of landing Porto midfielder Luis Gonzalez for £10million. (Daily Express) And Toffees boss David Moyes could add to that signing with a swoop for Wigan left-back Leighton Baines. (Daily Express

Trevor,I wouldn’t get to carried away just yet(this is Everton were talking about)How many times have we heard, that we are on the verge of signing this player and that player, only for it not to come off?If it is true, remember,we would have to discuss ’WAGES’with Gonzalez.I could imagine he would not come to cheaply on the wages front. And Baines,I’ll point to one word they use ’could’add.I will believe it when they have got that blue shirt in their hands.

I see on the Beeb website that Beattie has agreed to move to Sheff Utd...normally I would say seeya lardy but unless we sign another striker quickly he may be better off staying unti Jan

I think Moyes is making a big mistake selling Besattie now.. unless he? got another forward lined up.. I’ve ben postive all pre-season but now getting pissed off with the lack of numbers.. esp with Tiny and JV out for a while..

Unless we get another 2 or 3 players in then expect to suggle..

Any why spend 10m on Gonzalez why not offer that to get Manny back at GP...

Pissed off blue at the moment but i have faith in Moyes !!!!

I also saw braatan went to bolton for 250 000! for fucks sake how can we not afford that for a young squad player with potential who can play up front or on either wing, and he would have jumped at us over bolton..uhh european football anyone!!! ps thank god smith went to newc..he is overrated thuggy shitebag who looks right at home with the dodgy car salesman of a manager "big sam" I only hope moysey can sort baines out asap and dont make me laugh about the argy he is way out of our pay structure and piss pot budget!

Come on!!

Your starting to panic. Braaten was never good enough, the same applies for Nugent, Smith, Koumas...
If Baines coming in, Vogel or some other free transfer and then a player with the absolute world class of Lucho Signs then we will be more than safe. According to Echo Porto officials has confirmed an Everton bid and that for me speaks VOLUMES! This player is in the same bracket as Fernando Torres. Real Madrid and Valencia has keept a close eye on this player. He is captain at Porto, has played 30 internationals for Argentina and would in my eyes be a better signing than Riquelme or Fernandez. So lets wait and see. But what about strikers, maybe Moyes are will play 4-5-1? I would prefer or striker coming in though.

I for one am not panicking JUST yet regarding the lack of transfer activty. The right players for the club must first become available. For instance, do we want to go the way of the so called mid table teams? Panic buying amongst themselves with ridiculous amounts of money being splashed around on players who have (And will always) be A. Journeymen. - Nugent has the look of someone who will play for a team for a season or two before moving on before finally retiring after playing for Portsmouth, Fulham, ETC. B. More trouble than they are worth. Dyer, Bellamy, Barton.
C. Not very good. Koumas? £5m. Really??
It was not that long ago that Everton were in a bit of mess what with the likes of Richard Gough, Mark Hughes, Gazza, Ginola and some injured bloke from Man Utd in the squad. Everton have come along way since then under Moyles but it takes time. Unfortunatley the club doesn’t have x amount of millions to spend on a spanish striker only to ship him off and replace him with another spanish striker if it doesn’t work out. (You know who i mean). But i fancy one or maybe two new faces by the start of the season and then look to strenghen again in Jan. But then again i have spent today painting the house so perhaps the fumes have got to me.

Frankly I have faith in DM, he’s got us into Europe, and after the last kicking he received on our travels abroad he’s not going to let is all slide away.
As for Smith, the Barcodes, yet again, have used our scouting services and paid over the odds for him, but we got Baines who looks a better buy. I’d like to think the feint for Smith was to get them off Baines, but I really can’t credit them with that much nouse.

Smith’s not that great and we don’t need a top-four reject who still demands top-four wages.
I feel sorry for Barcode fans, they have delusions of adequacy, passionate fans, a board with cash to spend and they’ll still finish outside Europe this year.
