The Number 10 shirt
Comments (13)
Maybe I am clutching at straws in an attempt to mask my disappointment at the amount of transfer activity around Goodison Park. But why has the number 10 shirt been left free? Has Davey got someone in mind?
According to the Daily Express Everton are on the brink of landing Porto midfielder Luis Gonzalez for £10million. Hmmm... I wonder.

The Daily Express is a rag - dont believe the hype.
PS I hope Im wrong but with Valencia, Lyon and Real Madrid after the same player I’d say we were easily number 4 in that particular list.

Surely this is some sort of sick joke to push me & every other fan over the edge??
I hope I'm eating humble pie next week... if not you'll be able to find me here again next week, demanding Kenwright's resignation! Still need more faces!!!

How much more bullshit are we expected to put up with? Supposed bid of £10M for Gonzalez. Where has this money suddenly materialised from? Sorry cynicism suddenly hits .... surely not another wind-up offer from Everton when Madrid are interested in him?
Let's see... who would I choose? A club with little money and a Board with little or no ambition? Or a club willing to pay me a decent wage with not only domestic but European ambitions? No brainer really: Ev..... Madrid!
Do this Board really think the fans have no intelligence? Mr Dodd kindly remove your head from Kenwright's backside and start smelling the roses.

I woke up this morning to see a report in the Liverpool Daily Post and a reference on the BBC rumors site to the Daily Express confirming a solid offer made for Luis Gonzalez for 10 mil?? I never thought I'd live to see the day our club could fathom an actual DOUBLE DIGIT bid for a player. But I'm not seeing it on Sky or my beloved ToffeeWeb. Do any of you boys know anything more? What's the buzz?

Im looking forward to the prospect of a dynamic midfielder to take Goodison by storm. To complement Arteta and set football matches alight with his ability. Luis Fernandes has got the potential.

Are we all talking about the same player here? As far as Im aware his name is Lucho González not Luis González?

Ignore last post, his name IS Luis, his nickname is Lucho.

Even if all the rumours turn out to be based on actual fact, watch "the other lot" attempt to orchestrate a last minute hijack, given his first language, nationality etc., when the subject of his wages is broached. Come to think of it, can’t for the life of me think of why they haven’t tried to poach Arteta, particularly following last season exploits.

I seem to recall similar pie in the sky bids for Allan Smith before he went to The Manc’s and Michael Owen last season... why do they do it?

Well now the BBC is officially reporting it, so that would suggest that something MIGHT actually be afoot. Oh seven pound, eight ounce Baby Jesus, let it be so!
