The Mail Bag

And...

No-one is talking about our friendly today.

Good sense of perspective.

But on the 11th we must, must, MUST support our team even if not the Board.

Hear, hear to that, Ged. I fear we'll need the 12th man on the opening day if the Board don't pull a rabbit out of the hat before then.

I’ll echo your sentiments there. Imagine what it’ll be like on here if we get beat.

Err, needing a 12th man against Wigan at home on the opening day? Jesus wept

Gav, Going by past experience we know exactly what this mail bag will be like if we lose. It has cornered the Pessimistic Paranoic market. With Beattie gone the venom will be concentrated on less victims. Another poor sod will become a whipping boy.
Yes Gav, if like me you are an optimistic sort of bloke it can all be very frustrating.

If it happened Dick, the venom would no doubt be concentrated on Kenwright for taking us through ANOTHER farce of a close season and can you honestly say it would be without justification? I was the optimistic type too but when you see the same sorry scenes played out in front of us, yet again it just becomes too much to bear. I’m sorry mate but sometimes optimism has to be squared with realism. As things currently stand we have not strengthened our squad either to meet the demands of extra games or to stay far enough ahead of the likes of City, Villa, Newcastle, Pompey, West Ham. That’s just reality and whose fault is that?

Dick if you are to assume the club has either pride or aspirations to better itself then the likes of Wigan at home should be in the bag, unfortunately without the depth of squad to cover injuries I’m not sure which way the match will go. As a paying supporter surely that gives me the right to give the club bell end about failing to meet my requirements as a customer; a good display of football and a victory in what should be a winnable match? I’m not saying every game is winnable but they should all be treated as such or what’s the point in taking part? In the cold light of day a few injuries and suspensions will stretch this squad to it’s absolute limit, if we witness a few good tonkings then the fans will be baying for blood from DM upwards to be fair it should be Billy Liar downwards.
