Balance

Without wanting to be provocative, I've noticed that the vast majority of headline articles are anti-stadium. Does this reflect the balance of article received or is it editorial preference? It is quite common for all the usual four article panels to be occupied with "No" vote contributions.

I think its time to stop worrying
about ground locations and concentrate on footballing matters. If Saturdays abysmal showing is anything to go by then we wont be able to fill a phone box never mind a 50.000 seater stadium.
I was in Cyprus last week so I have only just watched the highlights[if thats what you call them] and it seams as though nothing has changed in the mind set of Moyes. The man never learns from his mistakes despite what some of you think.
If thats how we will set about the coming season playing in that manner then its adios Europe[1ST ROUND]and long hard slog with tiny squad for the rest of the season.

maybe the Yes men are not so enthusiastic about the move as those against it?
I’m sure it’s just who can be bothered to write in that gets published at the time but sometimes a submittal is not considered suitable for an ’article’ so it goes into the general mailbag if I’m right?
You can click the Fan Articles link on the left and find the pro-Kirkby articles.

So Tony, in your infinite football wisdom you say its all Moyes fault that we are in for another of your famous tonkings.
On the half chance we get a result from the Wigan game would that also be down to Moyes?
No? I thought not.

In my (admittedly limited) experiance people whol are against anything of thi ssort are more vocal.
Not only because they’re dislike gives them more drive but also because they are often more news worthy.
It should also be noted that although other sites are more positive, the disparity could simply be due to the nature of the readership over any editorial slant.

or maybe the no campaign is organised by dark forces to make everton bankrupt once and for all.
A conspiracy worthy of
1. they’ll rig the question
2. they’ll ignore the majority vote

Dick when a man in what ever walk of life your care to mention reaches the limit of his abilities then its not a fault its just that they have no more to give.
After nearly 6 years of David Moyes we the fans know what he can and can not do.One thing that is blatently obvious is that Moyes has limited abilities in the offensive department and can not get his sides to play joined up football.
The debacle at Palace on Saturday is no different from most of the Everton performances under Moyes,s reign
Dick playing this way gets you know where mate and thats the truth like it or not.Unless of course your talking about Auzzie Rules Footie that is.

Just like to point out that this post was originally a question about the new ground, why doesn’t Tony just start another anti-Moyes thread rather than sabotaging someone else’s? In answer to the question, I think that most of us are opposed to the move, certainly in our hearts, but it may be a different matter when it comes to polling day.

What I was saying Marcus was as always why are Evertonians worrying about the wrong things
Days before a new season starts?
New ground doesnt matter if you cant get it right on the pitch no one will bother going. How hard is that to understand?

For a number of reasons, which I won’t repeat here, Toffeeweb seems to have become the ’opposition’ on all matters Everton, not just the stadium issue. They’re kind of like the Dave Cameron of the Everton websites.
Much of the opinion expressed here is so out of kilter with grass roots Evertonians that I sometimes feel like Toffeeweb is some kind of alternative reality.
I suppose if you’re pro Moyes, pro Kenwright and looking forward to moving to a new stadium then there’s no reason to write to a fansite complaining.

Tony - the only thing I can say in your favour is at least you are consistent: seize any opportunity to rehash your anti-Moyes bile. What’s he done? Got us into the top 7 three times in the past 5 seasons.

Dont you see lads,Tony is right, all the players that were good for Everton last season are now shit! We needed to replace all of them and because we havent we are now going down because of teams like Man city spending millions on players that only people that play Football Manager have ever heard of!!! :)

Richard its not anti Moyes bile its anti headless chicken style football.Do you not remember the last time we went in to Europe
with the playing style of the Red Lion on a Sunday morning. At the back against Werder Bremen>we were terrible and got cut to shreds at times. Then in the Palace game we looked like the side who went bottom at Xmas 2005.
Next month we play in the Eufa Cup/>and going on past history Moyes will employ the 4-5-1 and play hoof ball to AJ. I have every right to be worried but I suppose anhiliation again in Europe is acceptable just as long as we can say we finished 6th last season.

With reference to Vincents question over the perceived anti stadium balance, re the mail received on this site; I just think that people who are pro- move to Kirkby, have realised that no matter what the arguments raised, a huge proportion of Blues just cant come to terms with it.Even when facts are presented, they distrust the board. You cant enter a debate with fans who are that set in their views.
This is not a criticism just a fact.

Tony, congratulations you’ve done it again, the whole thread’s moving in your general direction. I do understand where you’re coming from, I’ve lived through the Gordon Lee years, but I think your assertion that we should confine ourselves to hand wringing over the state of the team and not ponder anything else is a little naive, especially when the club is facing (in my opinion) the biggest decision in its’ history. The Moyes era will be a paragraph on the page in years to come, but what we are contemplating carries much more importance in the overall scheme of things. Just an opinion (sticks chin out).
