Moyes stays!

I felt I had to write this because going into work this morning to hear the news (off a Manc) that Moyes has resigned. Totally ruined my day.... thankfully it turned out to be a rumour, which ToffeeWeb confirmed.

Looking at the Mailbag this morning, it seemed every other blue felt same as me regarding this. that we were in a lot of the brown stuff... and not the brown stuff that them scabby barcodes drink either! At last it seems people realise just what a godsend Moyes has been for this club.

I for one will never forget the utter despair I felt when Smith was in charge, the feeling that we were going down for sure and I didn't fancy our chances of a straight return. Moyes has changed that to hope for the future and some long-lost (well since Royle, anyway) pride in my beloved Blues. I'm sure even the most diehard Moyes hater would agree he's done wonders with his limited resources and hopefully this morning, though under the saddest of circumstances, has made a few whingers realise just what we have, in my eyes our best asset (better than Arteta even!) and get behind the man with your support. My condolences to Moyes on his loss, but we need him more than ever.

We've given Moyes a fair deal of criticism on these pages over the years but even though he's maddeningly conservative and frustrates the hell out of me at times, the thought of losing him on the eve of the season after guiding the team to 6th last season sent chills down my spine. He is the one thing we can count on at the moment in what is an otherwise uncertain time.
