Goodison: the finest club stadium in England

I will be voting NO to Kirkby simply because the alternatives, ie, redeveloping Goodison or researching optimum sites within the City boundaries, have nowhere near been fully explored. If, as I hope, the majority vote is NO then we will be able to seriously look at these alternate possibilities.

Throughout this voting 'ordeal', where emotions are running high, I urge Evertonians to stay united together for the good of the Team. Goodison Park is over 100 years in existence and for many, many years was proudly recognised as the finest club stadium in England. My view is that when the time comes to move, we must be assured that the new stadium truly reflects the greatness and history of the name EVERTON FOOTBALL CLUB. Unfortunately, the plans for the Kirkby stadium are a poor immitation of what EFC stands for. It will be no better than the Reebok, Stadium of Light, and the like.

By voting YES you will be condemning the future of Everton FC to the backwaters of sporting mediocracy for ever... Surely we are worth better than that.

Well put argument, but personally I actually think that the plans look worse than the stadia you’ve mentioned. Eye of the beholder and all that, but these pictures are an artistic impression, they should excite people... to me it looks generic and dull.
