The Mail Bag

There's always a downside

Without wanting to put too much of a downer on the Baines deal - the lad's a dirty kopite... Mind you it's a slight bit of revenge for Fowler, Rush, McMananman, Owen, Gerrard etc etc etc...

And what we wouldn’t do for his left peg just now? (My favourite FA Cup goal at Goodison was his retaken free kick against Ipswich - "sorry for putting it in the wrong corner of the net ref - shall I put it in the other corner eh?") Oh those halcyon days-before football was invented!(according to Sky)

Look i dont know if he was taking the piss in that four four two interview or what but i know his dad and uncle and they are mad evertonians. I assume by that, that Leighton is one also.

It will be interesting to see if he mentions it in a press conference when he finally signs to put this issue to bed once and for all.

noone will care anyway if he rattles one in the top corner at the kop end!

Maybe I am missing the point, but why are we going on about which team he supported as a kid?
Most of Liverpool’s star players in the last 15 years grew up blues but they still got worshiped by the Liverpool fans!
He clearly wants to sign for us, and if his Dad, Uncle and Cousin’s pet cat are blues then i’m sure he’ll get a good welcome by them next time he visits!
He is a good player and it is a position we need to fill!

As i said previously...taken from the interview with him on the OS

He said: "I am very happy now it is all done and I am looking forward to getting on with it.

"I think people knew this was the place I wanted to come and I am glad now that it is all done.

"I am a local lad and all my family support Everton so it’s good to be here at last."

please let this be the end of the ’hes a kopite bollocks!

to be completely honest I posted the link as a bit of a laugh. I don’t give a toss who he supported as long as he works his arse off on the pitch and gives his all...

But just to be pedantic he says ’all my family support Everton’ he said nowt about himself! Wise lad!

He is a kopite, driving me mad with all this he is an Evertonian and wants to come home...he has always been a red, it doesnt bother me but just say it! Thats why he says I am a local lad, and all my family support Everton, yeah all except him!
