Alternatives?
Comments (4)
With the period of exclusivity passed and the ballot papers due to drop through the letterbox over the ground move, there is still no viable alternative to the Kirkby stadium move. The KEIOC and the LCC keep telling us there are alternatives, but other than a couple of rendered views of a redeveloped Goodison there are no real details.
The most important details, the cost and time it would take (not to mention planning problems) haven't even been touched on.
For supporters who believe the Loop is an alternative, I would urge you to physically have a look at this site, which is a traffic island with a warehouse on one side. Even with the naked eye, spacially it is hard to imagine a football stadium there, let alone parking space. Again no financial info is available apart from some tenuous agreements at the recent meeting.
If the KEIOC and LCC wish to persuade people to vote No, then we really do need to see some figures on the table pretty quickly otherwise the board are right, there are No alternatives.

Stand up to him, you’ll be glad of it in the long run.

Actually, in terms of some ’proof’ of the viability of the Loop, this is not very complicated.
We just need to hear that the LCC will give us the Loop land on the same basis as Knowsley are providing us their land (Warren, are you still listening?).
And we need to hear that Bestway will be investing as much in the Loop as Tesco have already promised in Kirkby (Mr Bestway, where are you?).
I’m waiting. But I wouldn’t advise anyone to hold their breath.
