The Mail Bag

Pathetic

There are 3 season tickets in my household ? today we have been sent 5 ballot papers! A friend who was over from Australia and bought a season ticket for one season and has not renewed it, has also received a ballot paper. How can we trust the club to build a new stadium if they can't even organise a ballot properly? It is not even as if they are clever enough to rig it in their favour as we shall all be voting NO.

Was your friend who was over from Australia a season ticket holder in the past three seasons? Because the club said all season ticket holders over the past 3 seasons would get a ballot. As for receiving two extra ballots, mistakes are made in mail outs, not the end of the world.

Sounds like they’ve not deduped the data properly.

Unless each individual has a unique ID which is used to track each point of contact with the club (Evertonia membership, season ticket holder etc) then it’s not always 100% when the deduping is done via a database package.

You could limit it to one per address but then you’d see any household with 2 or more qualifying blues being filtered down and having their voting rights restricted.

It’s a bit of a catch 22 really and there’s no clean way out of it but it sounnds like the club (and the ERS) have opted for a relatively loose script to avoid anyone claiming they’ve been excluded and causing a furore and potential claims of vote rigging.

P.S. Wouldn’t normally comment on anything like this but I work in Direct Marketing so it’s kind of my area of expertise.

Tony - its a matter of opinion, not a matter of who’s the real supporter. Sometimes you sound like a 12 year old.

Tony

Just because someone might not think the same as you, doesn’t mean they’re not a REAL Evertonian.

Do please grow up.

Guess what dropped onto my mat this morning. The time is upon us gentlemen and ladies to cast the vote on our future. Im pleading with the guys on the fence, so much has been written about the fors and againsts so I wont go into it all here, please weigh it up and vote for the long term, not just some long term fix. Big cross in the NO box from me, ahhhhh thats that done then, easy that was.

"The Real Everton Supporters"

Do me a favour Mr Marsh, someone who says they will drop the club if they move to Kirkby cannot call himself a real Everton supporter.

And you say my arguments are flawed.

I've just received a voting form for the Kirkby nonsense, but correct me if I'm wrong, shouldn't I be a shareholder, a season ticket holder or a Evertonia member? (although I was an Evertonia member in 2004 this doesn't qualify me for a vote does it?) If it does or does not I'm voting no anyway, but if I AM right in thinking i shouldn't be getting one of these forms, how many others that don't fit the criteria have been sent forms? (can anyone clarify this please?).

Is this just ANOTHER fuck up to add to the many thousands that us Blues witness on a daily basis at this shambles of a football club?
