Be Positive Please

We've just signed Leighton Baines and I for one am now very happy. Don't get me wrong, this has been one of the most infuriating summers ever!!! Aren't they all with us, bar last season when we brought in Johnson and Lescott early!!

We've signed Jagielka and Pienaar and we've finally gotten rid of Beattie for a fee of £4M, no less, that's more than I ever imagined we'd get for him, much as he seemed a likable Everton player he just didn't have it did he!?! We've now got a case for arguing that we've got the best defence in the league: Neville, Yobo, Lescott, Baines, and, and this is a big if, if we sign Fernandes, we could possibly have one of the best midfields in the league too: who wouldn't be salivating at a midfield 4 of Jagielka in the hole with Arteta down the left, Fernandes down the middle and Pienaar down the right. Put Cahill - when back from injury - in front of that with Johnson in front of him and that's a team that can challenge for the title I reckon.

With a bench of Hibbert, Osman, Da Silva, McFadden & Vaughan/Anichebe I'm feeling very positive!! Even if we don't sign Fernandes or indeed anyone else, I'd be just as positive anyway: Da Silva and Osman have both looked good in pre season and they could probably fill that position more than amply, and while Cahill is injured McFadden - who again has looked good in pre season - could start behind Johnson and that's still a very strong team, so come on, no more whingeing please, be positive, get behind the team and maybe, just maybe this could be the best season yet!!! Nil Satis Nisi Optimum!!!
