New season

Comments (3)

Scratch all my moaning and whinging since the end of May, the new season starts in four days and I'm like a child at xmas,on his birthday, after winning a rollover Lotto.

Amazing thing. Have been level enough headed, dare I say it even a grown up, about my football over the course of the summer. I have been as rational as possible over the whole stadium issue, the lack of money and transfers, and everything else associated with the club. Yet with only four days to the start of the new season, I've regressed completely into a state of pure joy and childishness. And you know what, it feels great.

After all the worrying and mixed emotions over what have been very serious and major issues for Evertonians over the summer, just to get back to thinking about football matches again feels really really good. Bring it on!

Me too, me too. I’ve got grandchildren that behave more grown up than me when it comes to Everton and the start of the season. They usually disown me around this time of year because I show them up. It’s not cool to have a nan that wears a Blue football shirt (only to go to the match of course) and has Everton stickers in the car. None of the little darlings are interested in football. Where did I go wrong?
They think I should be at home making scones or knitting something and that I should sit in the Main stand or somewhere quieter than the Street end because people swear and sing and shout down there you know. Hmmm, that’ll be me then..... Well, stuff that ’old and dignified’ malarky, I might be getting on a bit and due my bus pass soon but I’m like a 12 year old at the moment! Roll on Saturday.

Well said Lue - a girl after my own heart - I am just the same and I do have my ’bus pass. The only difference between us is that I have managed to bring up some generations of Evertonians - my son is a fanatic blue and so are my grandchildren. I too have an Everton scarf draped along my car back window shelf together with stickers and you should see people’s faces when its me that gets out of the decorated car... Well girl we are as old as we feel. Roll on Saturday - can’t wait to get to Goodison Park and I have a 4 hour car journey there and back from Carmarthen. Lets hope we win!!

We're Ready!

Just seen a behind the scenes piece on Sky Sports News about Everton. Interviews with various people, catering, admin etc and Goodison Park is being painted inside & out.....maybe we won't need a new stadium after all...just paint the old one!

Arteta asked if he was ready too, he said with a smile, "yes I'm ready, optimistic too!"

Nothing to worry about kids, alls well in blueland!
