Andy van der Meyde

Whilst doing some scouting on you tube, well isn't that Sven Goran Eriksson does, I stumbled upon this footage of a certain winger. The words "if only" spring to mind...

I remember watching that compilation when we first signed him and figured that if he could get fit we'd have a terrific player on our hands. You do have to wonder what the hell's happened to him ? so much talent but no real apparent desire to put the work in these days. Here's hoping he gets a new lease on life this season and grabs what will surely be his last chance to live up to expectations at Goodison.

I think most of us are expecting nothing of Van Der Meyde so who knows he may surprise...

Attitude and injury have been a concern. He has done all the pre-season though and played some good minutes in the pre-season so hopefully his injury problems are behind him.

Jan Molbys love child looks about 5 stone lighter on them clips.
He obviously couldnt give a toss about the diets prescribed by the club for him, must be a kebab shop too convenient to where he lives...
Hopefully he’ll want to start more passionately & seriously this season, if not for the club but for his pride, kids & family.. oh & then someone might wanna buy him & he can fuck off, whingin bastard!!

The problem with shandy breath is he has a bigger appetite for Lager, women and Es[sorry he was spiked] than he does for football.
Moyes should give him untill January and if we are still in the same situation with him then
we should off load even if it means giving him away.

Noting that I am a huge Moyes fan, does anyone else think that VDM needs better specific instructions?

I mean if I was manager when he got onto the pitch I’d ram it in to him that all I wanted him to do was stay out on the touchline, get to the goal line and pull crosses back. I know it sounds basic but I’d set him a target of 5 per game.

All this drifting in field malarky in pre-season... just stay wide ffs!

At least we now know what his goal celebration looks like!

I think vdm has got what it takes to survive in the League. However, I believed that he cannot stand the tough and regimental way of Moyes. Adding his flamboyant lifestyle, he’s gonna retire early than shining in the sport.

What the sad thing is,he is going down the same road as those other players who had all the ability, but will be remembered for all the wrong reasons.Thing is,I would have got rid of him by now, because in my opinion he didn’t deserve another chance. But he is still here, and he must now realise, this really is last chance saloon for him.If he fucks up again,he will have to retire, because we will get shut and nobody else will want him.
