The Mail Bag
Conspiracy Theories
Comments (4)
I haven't got the time at the moment to write an eloquent letter in the impressive style of Ian MacDonald. I'm busy in work, and my boss is over my shoulder. Instead I just wanted to highlight something, and maybe you at ToffeeWeb could delve a little deeper than me.
Like the majority of people on this site, yesterday I received my ballot paper. And as an Evertonian now well accustomed to spin and smokescreens I read the brouchure and enclosed ballot paper in great depth ? afterall this isn't a decision to be taken lightly. Anyway, I dont want to get into conspiracy theories and what Everton and/or the Electoral Society may be up to, but did anyone else notice that the address on the Ballot Paper was different to that on the Envelope? Anyone? Was it just me? Ok, I need to get a life!
Needless to say I called the Electoral Society this morning who informed me that one of the addresses was their usual one, and the other address was a PO Box that they were advised to set up by Royal Mail as they receive that much post.
Could it be one address, namely the round file for Season Ticket holders, and another address of shareholders? Will Everton publish the count of ballot papers received or will they just publish the percentage vote for and against? You see where I'm heading...
Again, maybe I'm becoming paranoid, but we usually have reason for suspicion ? especially as blues! As a friend of mine said - did you know Keith Wyness was actually spotted on the Grassy Knoll! Oh, and rumour has it that, when Wyness resigns after the "No" vote that Alistair Campbell is taking over as CEO!!!

Bill: Hi Tel. Just checking. How much have you spent up to now on the work for the Kirkby Plan?
Sir Terry: Don?t know the exact figure Bill but probably about £5 - £10 million. Why?
Bill: Well, you do know we?re going to let the fans vote on the move, don?t you?
Sir Terry: Yes I?ve known that all along but when you get the votes in you can always do a bit of ?creative accounting? with result, can?t you?
Bill: We can?t do that Tel because we?re going to let the Electoral Reform Society run the ballot for us.
Sir Terry: What!?! Bloody hell, but let?s not worry too much, we can just say it?s gauging the fans opinions.
Bill: No Tel. I?ve said that we?ll accept the result of the fans vote on moving to Kirkby or not.
Sir Terry: You ***** **** ***** ***, son of a *** ******** ********.

No, the address that was on your envelope was specifically designed for a certain quantity of people who had to be given votes but whose votes won’t actually be counted.
It’s called the Plonker clause in the Electoral circuit.

Can you post the 2 addresses and I’ll see what I can find out through my contacts in the trade?
