I've been living in Bristol now for 7 years. I'm a born and bred blue from Clubmoor, just at the bottom of Pinehurst Avenue.
I often wear my various Everton tops out and I see countless Liverpool tops when I'm out and about in Bristol. I have never been inclined to say to any of these beauts 'where abouts in Liverpool are you from mate' as I know full well that they're not! However, every last person adorning an Everton top has always been a scouser. It's who we are.
I'm not saying that there aren't any Liverpool fans in Liverpool when they are clearly in the majority. I don't care about them though. What I care about is My Club and its great history. My Club is from Liverpool and when people ask me why I support Everton and not Liverpool it's easy: we ARE the People's Club. We put up with the bad times and long for the good times.
I'm off to live in Thailand for a couple of years at the least but I don't want to be meeting those beauts with the red tops on telling me that my club doesn't represent the City of Liverpool any more. Liverpool City Council should be ashamed of themselves. Let's face it though, half of them probably support Liverpool and the rest are probably wools as well.
As neither a shareholder nor season ticket holder, I don't get to vote. However, as a youngster I followed the blues all over, an ever-present in the good and the bad times.
I saw probably the worst game ever to grace the top division when we played out a goalless draw of the direst quality with Coventry City. It was that bad it was almost funny. Some fans were throwing their season tickets on the pitch (there wasn't that many games left though). I was also present at the likes of Bayern Munich at home and the Epic comeback.
The point is these memories, both good and very bad, are what makes me and countless others Evertonians. It's not just about going to whatever ground we end up at. It's supporting the club whoever is in charge and cheering when it's goin well and moanin when it's not.
The one thing we have other than our rich history is our Identity. I can't vote but mark my words: Kirbky will be the beginning of the end.

Small point of fact MR Grierson...I, like many of my true blue sothern mates was not born in Liverpool, but my dad was, right next to the ground! and I too walk around with my numerous EFC T-Shirts to the same abuse that you seem to receive, family split both ways just for the record. Just holdin the torch for us not fortunate enough to have been born on mighty Mersyside, have made amends and own a season ticket though! 10 hour round trip journey to home games of which I attend at least 80% ( will be at THFC on tuesday as well!)as I was last year!! Big up to all that travel to away games and big up to all that live far away and travel to home games, thank god for Richard Branson (those who understand NEED NO EXPLANATION)
As for the vote, I love Goodison but understand we need to move etc. and have just ticked the No box.
Top site boys and glad the tour T-Shirts are a tad cheaper this time round.

Presumably Colin, if you have (or ever have) children and they aren’t born in Liverpool, you won’t regard them as Evertonians either.

Although he may well run into me in Thailand and I’m a Scouser.

I know this to be a fact from personal experience. And when exactly did we become the pride of liverpool? it has always been pride of merseyside to me...
