'Cahill backs move'

Comments (6)

I took time out from drinking and eyeing up the lovely ladies (there is even one right next to me on the Internet bit of the hotel!!) here in the party island of Ibiza to have a little look on the Everton site to check in on whats happening. We signed Laighton Baines which is absoluty fantatsic (I have wanted him in a Royal Blue shirt for a couple of years), but then on the Official site I was confronted with the title 'Cahill backs move'. I could not give a flying fuck if Cahill or any other player 'Backs the move' out of our city.

The players are there to play - ie, concentrate on picking up three points on Saturday. Us Evertonians are gojng to have to live with this for the rest of our lives - remember the flag in the Kop End at last seasons derby, 'One club - One city - One name - Liverpool' we will get that for ever, yet the players who wont be here in 6-7 years are saying what a great move this would be.

I'm sorry, Timmy; I think you are a great player for us but please do not insult us by supporting a move that you will not have to live with for the rest of your life. Players come and go ? us fans are here forever.

Whilst I appreciate your comments regarding future players ’backing’ the so called move, I really wish we would stop bothering about what Liverpool and their fans think! So what if there is a banner in the kop! I couldn’t give a stuff. Not that I dont smile widely if Liverpool lose at a weekend, but Everton is OUR club, and I care about them first and foremost. We all want whats best, whether that be a move to Kirby, a move round the corner or some divine redevelopment. Lets concentrate on our own future, and not get hung up on what other fans may think. We’re in this toghether, the one and only Mighty Blues!!

Let me start by saying if I had a vote it would be a "No" on the basis that other options should be seriously examined /considered . But points raised like this (and the other link complaining about TH being in breach of ERS "rules") are divisive. TH is an employee of EFC; he can hardly say "no" if asked. He’s bound to put a positive spin when asked; even if he didn’t respond (I.e. "no comment") it would be construed as being negative. The pessimist in me anticipates some nob-heads in the "no" camp giving out unwarranted stick to players over the forthcomomg weeks.

Adam,

I appreciate your sentiments and you are right to a degree that the players are not the ones who will be forced to live with this decision for the rest of their lives. However we should not blame them for the predicament or the manner in which the club has alienated half of it’s support.
The blame for that lies squarely at the feet of the board.
I see many of Wyness’s comments as degrading to many of the "core support" and also I get the distinct impression that impressing the money men at Tesco is more important to him than unifying the supporters at Everton.
Evertons’s strongest asset is the fans, we are a passionate lot and the only thing Wyness has succeeded in "delivering" is the in-fighting and frighteningly short sighted Plan A.

Enjoy your the remainder of your Holiday Adam, It is a world away from the spin, half truths and back biting going on here.

Adam,
Don’t believe for one second that Tim Cahill made those comments - its all propaganda from Everton’s PR team.

Enjoy the rest of your holiday!

I have just seen the post on the Everton website from Tim Cahill and thought I was being invited to respond only to discover that I have agreed with his comments by clicking on the link - as a result I’ve sent this message to Lord Voldemort but I know they don’t care;

"At the end of the pathetic plea/threat from Tim Cahill why not ask if anyone is unimpressed by this perspective on the move to Kirby - I clicked it thinking I would be asked for my opinion only to discover that I am now the 212th person to agree with this tosh. I am also writing to the Electoral Reform Society to complain about the glossy pro move brochure which was included with the ballot - bent as ever!"

If EFC in the shape of Wyness & Co are allowed to include their pro move propadanga in the actual ballot why are the views of the no to Kirby move not allowed their say - this could run and run!

Now I'm getting a bit annoyed, which isn't like me for things which - in the global scale of things - aren't really that important. But the trotting out by the official site of Tim Cahill's comments about the new stadium have really riled me.

How stupid do the Board think those eligible to vote are? Do they imagine they are sat at home thinking "No to Kirkby for me, but hang on, what's this, Tim says it is the principal the reason he and Mikel re-signed; you know I might just change my mind...". Cynical just isn't the word.

The thought that the comments of a pair (with respect to them as fine footballers) 'fly-by-night' Evertonians, I can't see their opinions on this subject really stacks-up against paying Evertonians, many of whom (like me) will have been born into the faith as a fourth generation Blue. Ever feel like you're being railroaded?
