The word of which we cannot speak (positivity)

No 40-point survival soundbytes from Moyes. Positivity for a change!
"We always like an open league and I would not even consider saying that Everton will not be in the shake-up at the top. You start a season intent on winning the league. That may be a little unrealistic, but I am hoping it will be very open and teams challenge the top teams.
"We do not want it to be that only money buys you success. We want it to be that good coaching, good management, good organisation and a well-run football club can also get through at the top. Not just those with money."

I spent a lot of time last season pointing out to the millionaire sugar-daddy advocates that this was indeed Moyes's philosophy, if you picked the right soundbytes. It's good to hear him adopt such lofty aspirations in place of that 40-point survival defeatism he came out with earlier last season, but the real key to my mind is how he puts his team out on the field and how they play. Sadly, this is where Moyes has repeatedly spurned the Everton tradition in favour of yard-dog hoofball. Will this season show any change from that? It better bloody had is all I can say!

Well in Davey Moyes! Lets play positive, committed football and batter the likes of Wigan out of sight. Needs a big performance tomorrow and we fans can help: Confidence is key, lets get right behind the team from the off and be the ’12th man’, COYB! Then watch em go; lets also get above the shite tomorrow, on goal difference at least...and stay there to put them pinkies where they belong!

Blimey now that is a turn up for the books, a really encouraging positive quote about our beloved Blues...
...No I’m not talking about Mr. Moyes, it was Mr.Kenrick who for a second there almost sounded upbeat. Just as well he managed to tone it down with a bit of misery about our ’yard-dog’ playing style or I’d have suspected that there’d been an imposter in our midst! ;-)

I 100% agree with Michael there. David Moyes has done wonders in some respects at Everton, but a positive, attacking football philosophy isn?t among them.

Probabaly slightly unfair Michael.. he’s had to gradually increase the quality of football we play and you can’t doubt that it has improved and improved and improved.
He just had to start with basics.. with our funds its a gradual job. I thought we played some really really good stuff at times last season.

I think if you look at the signings Moyes has made over the summer, including the current bids for Yakubu and Fernandes he has had positive football in mind. True enough, we tried to sign Vogel, who is a denfensive midfielder, but that was to compensate for our only out and out defensive midfielder, Carsley, getting on in years. Even Baines, at left back is a very positive signing.

Lets see if this translates into team selection tomorrow. Piennar and Jagielka straight in from the off please. Lets give them a bloody hiding and declare our intent good style. Lets not fart arse around and have Stephen and Jags brought on mid way through second half. Remember, the bastards nicked points off us at home last year. Fortune favours the brave

FORTY POINTS.........THAT WILL BE FINE ............BY MID DECEMBER WHEN WE GO TO OLD TRAFFORD.
That will give us something to build on for the second half of the season.
Just after that Man U game , we will have something to really celebrate.....the on-field arrival at Goodison of a ten million pound striker.........yes , one of our own..........JAMES VAUGHAN.
Does Davie really intend a positive approach ?
No idea but 6-0 over Wigan will be a good place to start and ten points in the bag as we head off to Bolton on 1st September.
Good luck to the players and to all at Goodsion for what could be a better season than we have seen in a while.
Remember Davie , teams like Wigan must be buried.........so.........6-0 !!!!!
