Everton Who?

Comments (9)

I've just read page 395 on ceefax, informing us that David Unsworth has signed for Burnley. It mentions his previous clubs as being West Ham and Portsmouth, but no mention of the many years spent at Everton where he got his only England cap and an FA Cup winners medal. Why do we always get ignored?

I was a bit pissed off watching the BBC’s Football Focus ... we were pretty much the only prem side that didn’t get a mention!

It’s not important but at times it can really piss you off! Am an exiled blue in Australia and I have recently read an article on Liverpool how great the city is for tourism and stating how people should visit... which is good until I got to the part " and they have A top flight premier league club" I wonder whether LCC have started changing their tourist brochures already....!!

personnaly i think the bbc are the worst at blanking everton.

wether it be the tv or the radio station , both continue to not give everton the air time they deserve if any air time at all.

ive seen and listen to them bang on about stevie gerrard since saturday but they havent even mentioned arteta’s magnificent display against wigan.

after watching most of the games on sky i would actually say the 2 best performances of the weekend were arteta and micah richards (man city). if either were playing for liverpool man utd or chelsea the bbc would be drooling over them.

i think its now my duty as a fan to not only let them know that they are biased against everton , but im also considering boycotting all bbc sport proggramming in protest.

funny isnt it how i said to my lad 5 minutes before motd started , " i bet they hardly show the everton match and it will be last". surprise surprise i was right.
to make matters worse the pundits analyzed every match in detail but not evertons.in fact it was obvious by there pointless comments that they hadnt even watched any of the match apart from the goals.

It’s easy - don’t bother watching MOTD Saturday night, watch the repeat on Sunday morning, we’re guaranteed to be one of the last games, so have a lie in as well.

7 games on Saturday, we were the last game ! I once complained about the ’95 Cup final and the biaised commentary, - great result, but anyone would have thought there was only one team on the pitch - Manure players were mentioned when they attacked and when they defended.

Had a lovely response from the MOTD editor accusing me of biase (duh !!) - his name, Brian Barwick - head of the FA and a huge RS !!! AND whilst I’m having a moan at the BBC - someone should mention to Gary Linekar that he once played for this great club.

It’s not important, but it is rather amusing.

Especially given the fact he spent the better part of a decade at Everton, and even got a testimonial off us.

The BBC would probably list Aston Villa as one of his former clubs before they list us.

Better still .... watch Football First on Sky on a Saturday night - starts at 10.15 p.m. and you can see at least 50 minutes of our game every week. Then you can make your own judgements on the standard of the game.
