ToffeeWeb - Season 2007-08

The Mail Bag

Whats it all about ?

I am like thousands of Toffees out there ? totally confused and disaffected by our beautiful game. Every time I read an article about the new stadium I nod and agree and then change my mind at each and every comment below it! I can`t comment as I`d change my mind halfway through. I hardly ever look at the Official website as I find the spin a bit insulting.

I do find myself these days feeling rather superior to most football fans as Everton are certainly doing it the hard way! No foreign investment, mainly British players, manager that does not wind me up, and next to Man City the best fans in the country. I actually do believe that Moyes will bring back some entertaining and winning football in the next two seasons.

I can see his cunning plan at last, I only go to three games a year and some of it has been turgid, yes even Portsmouth at home was average, but with the calibre of squad he`s put together I think no-one can doubt him.

Back to the stadium, my three best memories:

Davey Johnson scoring in the derby when I was in the boys pen
Ipswich battering us 4-0 Gates etc and the whole ground applauding them for the last half hour.
Rooney scoring against Villa in the last minute (I still love that kid)

All these and many more memories will linger on after we move... I just don't know about Kirkby; my heart says No, my head says Yes but having just read this you`ll probably say "Stick to your heart, Al!"
