The Mail Bag

Spuzz

I watched the game in a Hastings pub. Next time, I'll ask them to keep the free jukebox on. Andy Gray has simply lost it (old Blue or not). Sky's obsession with big-spending 'Spuzz' (copyright A Gray) was bad enough but Gray's sniping at AJ, in particular, was quite unwarranted. AG's own game (and I saw most of them) was hardly dissimilar to AJ's ? scare the defence shitless when you get the ball in the area, drag men wide when you get the ball outside, nick 12/13 a season and, all the time, create enough space to give the midfielders a chance to get near double figures too. Great result tonight but, sadly, tomorrow's press will be nothing but 'Spuzz in crisis.' As for Wednesday's MOTD's casual mention, same old shit, I expect.

Just wanted to commend Lee Carsley on a superb performance against Spurs. He was simply outstanding, Real madrid indeed bought the wrong player! Credit to Moyes for convincing him to stay on.

Does anybody think Anichebe is going to improve any more? I think he did ok, but seemed a bit lost at times out there. Let's break the bank for Yakubu, I'd rather have him than Fernandes at this moment in time.
