Sitting with the Spurs fans...

When Everton visit London, I don't know what is worse: being seated with the home support when Everton are winning, or when they're losing. But on Tuesday night they were winning. And all I could do was sit on my hands. Spurs fans were lamenting the failure to pick up the second ball, lack of movement, and no final pass due to the Everton hussle. Even I started to become frustrated with a few Spurs payers. Jenas's name, close to genius, closer to penis.
Anywho, outplayed in the first half with 'football', but the combative approach worked well, as it says around White Heart Lane 'To Dare is to Do'... 3-1 at the break! Everton fans looked to be having the time of their lives. From high up in the North Stand it looked like the world's biggest bundle every time we scored. For me, I had to do with cockney aggression and fans who quite honestly haven't much time for some of their players... when Howard pulled off a point blank save at the far post, they were starting to leave. If I was them I'd have left in the first half when Neville pulled off a one-two with Carsley.
Arteta was great at retaining possesion but the only one. Fernandes will take this team to the next level and with Pienaar as well to play the ball, we're looking good for Europe... Champions' League anyone? Ahhh early season dreams...
Leave with 5 minutes to go so to avoid the moaning Spurs fans... was great to hear the cheers above the whistles at full time and walked down Tottenham High Street feeling on top of the league :)

Spurs were very very poor but top marks to Everton for taking advantage.
Little Leon Osman deserves a big mention. Had excellent close control. Beat players. Prospered in crowded areas. Takes skill to play well in the middle of a crowd and he and Arteta were the only two on the pitch who did it well. Spurs really missed having players doing this....
But the main thing Spurs seemed to lack was any sort of team cohesion or team ethic. Whole team standing around waiting for their turn, especially in attacking play.
In posession, the whole of the spurs team would stand around, not looking for space, not moving up the pitch, not trying to move the Everton players, just standing.
As I write my Spurs comments I’m not thinking about Spurs - I am thinking that it reminds me how well Everton plays as a team these days. All credit to the manager. Watching the contrast of a team playing a collection of individuals was fascinating.
