The Mail Bag

Lets kick on lads

Please Moyes take heed!!

Just 'cause we have won our first two games, don't rest on your laurels and think we don't need any more playing staff as per a quote from your interview last night...

...Fernandes is a must!!! Benfica have accepted a bid so it's just down to personal terms, let's not bugger this up for the love of god. We have had a great start but its gonna be a long hard season ahead and we need quality players to add to our already good team. Reading away will be a hard test as we must beat teams of this quality if we want to be up there.

Fernandes is a very good player with the potential to become great with your help just like what you've done with Arteta, improving his all round game especially his defensive duties which where superb from the majestic Spaniard last night. I love the man!!! So please sign Fernandes. You can see him and Arteta liked playing together last term and where very exciting to watch. He is young and will improve with help. Go on you can do it!!!

Final note, 3-1 fooking fantastic result. Well done lads made my day, night, week. Now let's kick on.

Just to allay any fears we may have - on the mouthpiece of EFC (Echo) I found this... "Moyes was unable to confirm last night whether Manuel Fernandes had completed his permanent move to Goodison, but did confirm Benfica have accepted Everton?s offer and the Portuguese midfielder is due in Merseyside to sign."

I think you missed the pojnt of the Moyes interview. He intimated if no more players came in that is fine because we’ll just get on with what we’ve got and no excuses.

Bloody fantastic!!! Weren’t the lads great last night against Spurs - felt so proud of them and have been on a high all day driving the office occupants up the wall singing "If you know your history"!!

Well lets hope our history repeats itself on last season - we beat Spurs at White Hart Lane last year, now wouldn’t it be nice to beat those sods across the road again as well as we did last year. We can all dream!!

Does any one have any info on Fernandes? Apart from what Moyes said yesterday. I heard it was suppose to be sorted in 24 hours

I hope we get him in before the weekend. That said, I also hope that these rumours about Newcastle wanting Neville don’t come true. I know he’s not the most flashy player, but I think he has been a very good influence around here, hope he doesn’t go anywhere. We need all the experience we can get, it’s currently a good mix of young up and coming players and experienced veterans such as Carsley, Stubbs, Neville.

With feet well and truly rooted to the ground bearing in mind this is only the second game of a long and hard season ahead, I can’t help but feel a sense of wellbeing after last night’s result. The team played as a team and it was a heart warming performance that made me prouder than ever to love the Blues. Yes, we need to kick on from here and it was so refreshing to hear DM speak in positive tones during post match interview. Fernandes? oh please yes, my mouth is watering at the prospect of him and Mikkey in midfield scaring the opposition half to death.
Well done lads. COYB.

Deathly silence coming out of Goodison with regards the Fernandes deal. No official confirmation with regards to a bid, never mind acceptance of. Cant help but fear the worst... Or maybe it's just the Everton way.

Yeah...anyone knows whats up? It was in the papers everyday...until the last couple of days. Surely Manny can’t have "got lost" in Mereseyside?
