JJB/Everton

Comments (39)

What's happening with JJB and Everton?? I took my Everton top to JJB to put a name and number on. They refused saying: 'we don't print names on Everton kits anymore and we don't stock Everton kits anymore'. But they still print names on all the other kits. Living in the North East it's hard to get hold of Everton merchandise. The only shop that used to do them up here have stopped. This is one area where the club is loosing out. I looked around in the shop they had plenty of Liverpool, Man Utd, Celtic, Rangers and few others hanging on the walls and plenty of it. I'm dissapointed to say the least. Wyness needs to improve the marketing side of things.

I don’t know why they told you that, as far as I’m aware JJB still have a distribution contract with Everton.

JJB do still stock Everton and they do print on the shirts. If a store does not have any they can order one for you just ask the manager of the store. If you get no joy from the manager I would suggest letting JJB know as I’m sure they would be dissaponted that you didn’t get a shirt.

I wrote an article about JJB’s inability to sell Everton shirts last week.

I walked into a Chorley JJB Outlet last week and i had to ask the assistant where the Everton shirts were. There were less Everton shirts than Newcastle. Needless to say there were racks and racks of the so called "Big Four

They did however add a name and number (Yobo 4) to my new shirt for £5. Still i asked the manager why they weren’t in the front window or at least on the racks as you enter the shop, instead of stuffed away in the corner. He just shrugged and claimed he had no idea of JJB’s affiliation with Everton.

Same all over the world mate, EFC are missing out everywhere. I walked into a shop in Perth WA load of the usual Red shite everywhere along with Chelsea MU even West Ham and Citeh. I asked about an Everton shirt and they said Oh I can order it in what country is tht from ? says it all.

What we really need is people at the club that know all about marketing not the load of idiots doing the job(badly)now

Just to add to this thread I have been looking for a cotton t-shirt with perhaps some graffiti efc or other something on the it. I cannot wear polyester as I am allergic. Its just impossible to get anything suitable. When I ask the manager in our local Everton shop he just shrugs his shoulders and says thats the way things are. Have tried sending an e-mail to the Megastore but got no reply. I have since spent the money I had on other Items. I wonder how much money Everton are missing out on

It seems to be the case all over the place. I live in Oxford and we have about 3 JJB’s. I looked in all of them for some Everton gear and all I found was last years shirt in the sale section! Allthough I’m not a big fan of the fact we seem to bring out shirts every week, the whole point in doing it is so we can sell them. That can’t happen if we can’t find them!

The selection of Everton shirts in the JJB @ the traford centre is a joke, they stock about 20. But they are tucked out of view from when you walk in, and about 15ft in the air so you have to ask a shop attendant to get one down for you.

I tried to buy directly from the club megastore online a while back to ’cut out the middle man’ only to find it was going to cost me £15 (mailing costs for one jersey) for the privillage...I didn’t bother on that occasion...maybe someother time if I’m getting a few items it might make more financial sense...

My advice to you would be to call and write JJB instead of posting on toffeeweb. JJB is a business, not exactly in their financial interest to not provide things you want to pay for. Let them know what store this happened in, who the manager was, and ask them to let you know the result. I’m sure they would have something to say about a manager refusing to provide a service that you wanted to give their company money for.

May I suggest making Everton FC aware of these failures to stock merchandise, enough groans will surely have the club look into the issue

JJB in South Shields had loads of Everton kits on display few weeks ago. Including loads of kiddies ones. Walked in today and there wasn’t any on display. Either loads of Evertonians in the North East hiding some where. Or like they say they’ve stopped stocking them.

You’d even struggle to find a shirt in Manchester’s JJBs.. Manchester! Our closest major city.

It’s beyond a joke.

Raoul Duke, It’s the same everywhere. Went to Huddersfield a few weeks ago and there wasn’t one in sight. All the sports shops where surrounded with the top four shite.

im not that clued up on marketing but think that selling shirts and other merchandise in outlets such as jjb loses the club money because these shops want a cut of the profits were our own shop we dont. (the everton way}

I live on South Coast and have 3-4 JJB’s to use - Southampton & Brighton .They stock Everton kit but not as well displayed as Top 4 and Newcastle - BECAUSE - we dont like it BUT they sell far more of them than Everton . I can understand Top 4 but how come Newcastle always out-do us - one team in one city ?

The Saturday after the Champions league final, I asked JJB Liverpool if they had any AC Milan shirts in stock as they had numerous Euro clubs including Inter Milan & Juventus, so I was quite curious. I was told they dont have any call for them and as such dont stock them...co-incidence that. At the time, our "retail partner" was selling our shirts from the far righthand corner behind just about everyone else.
It seems that the Liverpool shop and others must be run by partisan "rednoses". They can just materialise out of just about anywhere these days!

I ordered a shirt for my lady’s birthday at the end of June direct off of the club website as I live in NZ. Best part of 30 quid postage. 2 days later I got a mail off of a lady at JJB saying they couldn’t post it as I hadn’t given them a postcode. Wrote back and explained I lived in a very small town and didn’t have a postcode and could they send it immediately. After three weeks it still hadn’t arrived (already post b’day by now), so I wrote back to enquire if for 30 quid I could have expected airmail delivery. Received a reply that as I had not given them a postcode my order was still sat in the warehouse. Again stated that there was no postcode and asked for immediate dispatch. Received a reply that she was looking into it all. By this time it was really post post b’day and I had had to fork out for another pressie anyway. So I wrote and asked to cancel the order stating disatisfaction. The very next day the order turned up. Seems somebody in the warehouse showed some initiative and sent it. The lady annoying me still thought it was sat there gathering dust. MUPPET!!!!

Mark, I know what you’re saying, but the point is that JJB are supposed to be our retail partner. Outsourcing was supposed to bring us untold wealth and improve revenue streams. Anybody else heard of managed decline?
