Now I am no England fan but can someone please tell me how Stuart Taylor gets picked for England ahead of Joleon Lescott? WTF is that all about?

Evertonians playing for England... it always ends in tears. I'd be made up for Joleon when he gets the nod but I'm not bothered hes not going to be exposed to potential injury on international duty in the immediate future. :)

I hope England get beat anyway, My only concern is Everton, let them pick players that play for the so called big 4 or London clubs, on another note so glad to see that lying fat greedy cunt get a broken foot.

Richard, I asked the same question a few posts down. It boggles the mind how he can’t even be involved in the squad! He has been awesome for us since his debut. He should be in and around the squad but as Lyndon said, it can be a good thing that he is not exposed to the extra risk of injury.

Agreed, I can’t believe Steve Mac believes Stuart Taylor will be of more value to England than Joleon, but there’s the logic of a sh*t manager. I think Taylor could be a good player, but there’s no way he’s proved himself the way that lescott
But, england’s loss is our gain.

The FA are a complete joke. I just can’t even be bothered to watch the England team anymore, they are pathetic. Naming McClaren as the manager said it all. Look at the managers who are out there, and the FA chose the fucking manager of Boro!!! Let Lescott rest and not get injured, Everton is what really matters, not a stupid friendly.

It shows just what an embarrasment of a manager McClaren is.To even consider Heskey for the squad,is taking the piss. Also,I think Taylor is being rewarded for his great performances for the U21s,so you can’t really begrudge the lad his chance.

What makes it even more daft is that he saw lescott live at spurs so he cant say he hasn’t noticed his form and talent.
Unfortunately, even on sky just now the guys were talking about possible england centre backs and never mentioned lescott once.

I’m patriotic, and as much as I think it is a disgrace for Joleon to be overlooked considering his form over last season and the start of this one, I am more bothered about him playing Reading today.
As I get older the England games don’t seem so important.

Richard, I think its due to the fact that he has been playing out of position, even though brilliantly, at left back. Once he becomes a regular at CB I think he will be picked if he keeps to the standard he’s at.
But I agree with the earlier comment in that I really dont care whether our players are picked for England or anywhere else. This is going to be a hard enough season as it is.

What is happening in England these days?
I am a welsh guy living in england and find it scary how unpatriotic people are in england. No English flags anywhere, no celebrations on st George’s day (most don’t know when it is) and now people not caring about their national side. What has happened to you people?

Rose tinted glasses mate. whilst I agree that Lescott is a fantastic player, so is Taylor and living in Newcastle I’ve probably seen a lot more of him than you! In fact I’d say that if any any young player deserves a call up its him. Additionally Taylor plays centre half week in week out whereas Lescott is currently (hopefully not for much longer) a makeshift full back.

I think Lescott is really enjoying his football at the moment. The England camp could have alot of negativity around it at the moment. After all I can’t see all the players being happy with the Beckham and Cambell recalls. Also, I would not want an Everton player right now exposed to some of the very nasty criticism that currently exists both within the English media and amonst fans. The club is doing well, there is a buzz around the place and as an Evertonian, if not an England fan, I want that to continue.

Its Steven Taylor not Stuart Taylor. Stuart Talyor is a goalkeeper for villa, ex-arsenal.
