Possession

I didn't see the game unfortunately but have been looking at the stats and reports I've noticed an inconsistency.

The concensus is that we did not retain possession but game stats show we had approximately 49% which is actually quite a lot for an away side. Is it that all our possession was in our half or some other reason for the reports?

Seeing my first game of the season next week so hopefully we'll have improved by then!

I was at the Reading game, with a Reading supporter too and we had this conversation after the game. He said they had the lions share of possesion but I reckoned that it was likely to be alot closer possession-wise than he thought (I was right clearly)

The thing with yesterdays game wasn?t that we didn?t create much, we did, it was our way of playing that was wrong - hitting the ball high/long/crossed into the box for AJ is pointless cos he?s only a little fella. We have one the best crossers in the league in Arteta but nobody to get on the end of them. Anichebe was ineffectual despite trying hard, and AJ doesn?t get the service he needs to beat players. Couple all that with a Reading side who basically beat us at our own game (grab a goal and sit on it, defend deep and in numbers) and we were never going to win it. OK we hit the post twice near the end but we never really looked like scoring a goal, even though we had plenty of the ball.
