The Mail Bag

It's a conspiracy

From the Wikipedia website which most have prob heard about...

Recently, Mittal has emerged as a leading contender to buy Barclays Premiership clubs Arsenal, Wigan, Birmingham City and Everton, but has so far refused to comment. On June 25th Hong Kong businessman Carson Yeung bought a 29.9% stake in Birmingham City making a full takeover from Mittal increasingly unlikely.[11]

But it was the second comment that caught my interest...

Sources close to the CEO of British supermarket chain Tesco, Terry Leahy, have said the two met in July of 2007 regarding a development in the town of Kirkby, a suburb of Liverpool.

Tesco, Kirkby, Mital influences?

I wouldnt believe everything i read on Wikipedia. I think its shortcomings have been pointed out on this site before.
But then again - who knows, maybe there is something in it.

Yeah, on wikipedia anyone can just write an entry I think.

But on another point, if we did move to a new stadium with a really low debt on it, we’d probably be wayyyy more attractive to investors.

Whether we want one is another matter... I’d hate a Kia Joorbachian type or Glazer. Glazer sucks it to the fans with massive price increases, Joorbachian buys Corinthians and subsequently take sall there best players to europe and sells them at a profit for his company not for the club.

If only blue bill had about a few more quid eh!

That was added after the initial link was put in the rumour mill. It is total bull, put on there to prove that wikipedia is the absolutely worst reference for fact that there is. Look up Rafa Benitez on wikipedia and see what it says about the Spanish Armada, I added that when I read the first link to that Mittal guy, then went back a few hours later to see that last part added, and it has now stood as fact because somebody chose to click the edit buttom on wikipedia. I also put a bit about Everton in the Rafa bit but that was deleted.
