I used to really enjoy coming onto this site but I must say that my visits are getting less and less. I, like many others, are sick to death of the "Yes"/"No" to Kirkby debate, the constant whinging about Moyes, how crap the team is etc. It's just depressing reading daily - most of the articles being pure speculation or "I think....." with no real fact to them.
Considering it's an Evertonian fans page the red shite would find it more difficult to slag us off.
My other moan is why the site never seems to be updated with ancient transfer speculation and really old news items reported on. I think I've fallen into the trap of whinging now ? but there again ? this letter probably won't see the light of day anyway.

The squad page with comments changing weekly was one of the first things that attracted me to this site all those years ago. I used to enjoy reading your little comments, why don’t you update them more often anymore?

1) have a good old moan yourself
2) shoot the messenger
Christ Roy i’d rather read a post on the ground move or debate the team selection any day rather than read what you are after posting.

However, since the stadium debate has been raging I have found the tone of the whole website has become increasingly negative and those that run it seem to have their own agenda against Moyes and the current board. I hope that once the result of the vote is published the site will return to normal but I have a feeling that if the yes vote wins then the vitriol will continue...
5 Posted 21/08/2007 at 13:51:51
Why don’t you start a seperate section on toffeeweb for the ground debate? I agree with Roy that it is getting very boring now.
Everybody with a vote must have made their mind up which way they are going to vote by now and there isn’t really much we can do now but wait and see what the outcome is.
I think it would be better for regulars on toffeeweb to decide if they want to get involved in the debate or not by clicking an allocated button.
Or am i alone in being completely pissed off with hearing/reading about the ground move/stay where we are debate?

The ground move has been done to death and we can all speculate about the team but a lot is made up or speculation.
As regards my "moaning" all I mentioned was that the vast amounts of posting on this site is totally negative and makes depressing reading.
What messenger do I want shot - nobody was mentioned?
As regards old stuff on the site, there is still the Reading vs Everton preview.
Of course I’ll still come back to this site because believe it or not I too love this club.

Regarding the previews, yes, it would be a good idea to disable them once the game is gone. I?ve been debating with Lyndon whether to keep them, though, as part of the incredible historic record that is our Season Diary. I think it?s brilliant to go back and see what was happeneing, or to search for when something specific happened... like what date Beattie left...

10 Posted 21/08/2007 at 14:23:50
Why not start a thread on what our starting eleven should be on Saturday? Will Yobo be fit? Will Baines replace the ineffective Valente? Should Jags be given his chance at right back?? Then we can all get involved.
Instead you add to what you call "whinging" by having a good old whinge yourself!!
And by the messenger i meant the Toffeeweb team - They just publish largely what is sent in to them - why not send in something positive yourself if you feel its all doom and gloom?
P.S. I didnt Think it was that bad btw!! Even Tony Marsh had been reasonably subdued lately!!

perhaps you could do something about ITV’s terrestrial teletextjust been to page 508 and they still list Ferguson as No.9

Listen in 4 weeks time i think everything will have settled down a bit. We’ll know exactly who will be playing for Everton this term, and we’ll know where the future of Everton lies in terms of the stadium. Weather your for or against Kirkby THANKFULLY we’ll all have to get used to the decision whatever way it goes and we can get on with doing what we do. Supporting Everton. Supporting Moyes and believing in a team and a manager who can go on and have a good year in the prem, and a good run in the cups.
All this bitching, sniping, arguing , debating - well it all serves a purpose i guess, but there comes a time when it be nice if someone said something positive.
WE HAVE WON 2 OUT OF OUR 3 GAMES.
WE ARE ABOVE MAN U IN THE TABLE.
WE HAVE ONE OF THE BEST MANAGERS IN THE LEAGUE.
WE HAVE THE BEST SUPPORTERS IN THE LEAGUE.
WE HAVE ARTETA.
WE WILL HAVE FERNANDES.
WE HAVE JOLEON LESCOTT.
WE HAVE CHANG BEER.
WE HAVE GOODISON PARK.
Come on - Cheer up!

You mention in your first posting on this topic that you merely provide ’the channel’ for the views of a ’wide range of fans’, but I cannot help but feel that the tone and scepticism in which you set information out in the site is beginning to attract only a particular type of Everton fan who, although has every right to have their opinions voiced, is not creating a true representation of all fans (something I feel your site once did).
For me, an example of the bias showing through in your editorial can be seen in the main headlines of two articles linked over the last week.
On August 13th when introducing Colin Fitz interesting analysis of the Kirkby project, we hear that he has "put together an incredibly detailed financial analysis that blows a big hole in the Deal of the Century". A few days later however, when you link to Professor Tom Cannons open letter to BK on the Blue Kipper website, you comment upon Prof Cannon as "Self-proclaimed football finance guru" that for me smacks a little of a cheap shot and biased editorial.
It would be great if you could get back to how the site was previously, where an open forum was provided that attracted a well balanced opinion of all fans through its editorial and information provision, rather than the current path the site is taking.
I have to say that I’m not the only person who feels this way at the moment. Speaking with a wide variety of Everton supporters, both friends and colleagues, the vast magority are also beginning to feel this way.
Regards,
Mike

Which one is Yakubu .... ?
24 Posted 22/08/2007 at 05:51:56

The Kirkby debate has generated a lot of in-fighting that has too often descended into abuse, which is sad. But it's a very emotional issue. In just two ddays, it'll all be over bar the shouting... and the inquests... and the analysis... and the recriminations... Oh Gawd: it's never gonna end is it?
As for updating, the homepage is updated every day, as long as we think there is something worth linking to out there in cyberspace that is Everton-related. And as for why the site never seems to be updated with ancient transfer speculation... er, we try to keep transfer specualtion in the Rumour Mill and then only put something up if it's new. I just put up two Yak bulletins this morning, FFS! But no, we don't updated with ancient transfer speculation... coz it's ancient! [I'm sure that's not quite what you meant, but it was pretty funny].
Your real problem might be a clogged cache or something like that. We occasionally get complaints that people can't get the current page and it is usually their web browser that is the problem. I do hope your ToffeeWeb experience improves, Roy. We'd be very sad to lose you.
