The Blame Game

Comments (6)

Having logged on and read over a couple of other non-Kirkby articles/posts and especially Tony Marsh's latest piece. I found myself a bit pissed off with Tony for (surprise) his negativity towards absolutely everything blue! But on the other hand I agreed with parts of his Reading game views.

We did look terribly short of ideas, hence the lumping it forward to burn out AJ tactics we adopted & we didn?t look as solid as we have recently at the back, this was probably more down to missing Joey who is even more important to us than ever!

Another thing that was highlighted is the quality of Arteta, the man is simply the best footballer we've had for nearly 20 years, when he plays well the team looks better, players like Leon, Carsley, AJ and Vic look better because of service & space which the little Spaniard creates, but, if he has an off day, ALL of the players mentioned (and more!) look off the pace and bland also, which is the reason Moyesy needs to add more quality to the squad, cos as soon as the other clubs start realising this then who will step up and relieve the pressure???

Example ? If Ronaldo is having a shocker for the Mancs, Fatboy steps up; if he?s off the pace Tevez, then Giggs, Scholes etc etc! This is what we should be aiming for, nothing else. Manny is a great start to addressing this problem but we need more! Anyway got that off my chest. Let's get back to winning ways at Blackburn COYB!!

ps:- what are the chances of an old school unveiling at the match on Saturday, Manny (and maybe the Yak) on before the game in dodgy suits with blue scarves. Love all that, me!!

John I dont see it as a blame game
more observations about Moyes,s short coming. After 5 years of his management it quite obvious that he cant, wont or is incabable of changing things out on the pitch.
Maybe he needs help.An elder statesman figure who can nudge him in the right direction every now and again. There is no way he can be extracting anything usefull from Irvine is there. He looks more shellshocked than DM when we conceed a goal.I have noticed most of the other top sides in the PL have half a dozen bodies on there bench on match days.We have 2 and sometimes Chris Woods.Maybe thats were the problem is.Not enough heads coming together.what ever it is it needs sorting and quickly. When you are getting beat so easily by Reading reserves there must be underlying problems. Its easy to brush problems under the carpet and not face up to them like alot of our fans like to do but its attitude like that that hold us back.Content with mediocrity and >a manager as they say if far better than Wally Smith.

For a start fellas, last season Reading put out a second XI against Man U in the Fa cup and should of won...its pretty obvious to me what happened, the players all started believing thier own press and exepcted Reading to be easier than Tottenham, when they got about us and harried we didnt shit it! More than anything i’d say it was an off day! Marshy dont start all that about Moyes again, if the club did bring in some director of football/older experienced coach then that would be a sign of distrust which would eventually end with Moyes leaving the club!!! We would end up with some foreign munter or someone who is not fit to wear DM’s beige euro slacks. By the way, love new players getting unveiled before games, especially foreign ones who you can almost guarantee to wear them John Barnes Fashion Nightmare suits!! 2-0 on saturday the ’injured’ AJ to open his account

Tony Marsh, you really do talk some bilge don’t you ?

Man United were held to a draw by "Reading reserves" and Chelsea were taken right to the wire.

Jesus Christ man, give it a rest.

Reading reserves? They were only missing Kitson, Lita and Sonko. And only one of Kitson and Lita would have played. I think Bikey looks better than Sonko. Therefore, really they were at full strength.

That’s it I cannot take any more sticks fingers in ears until Saturday singing.

Happy talk, keep talkin’ happy talk,
Talk about things you’d like to do.
You got to have a dream,
If you don’t have a dream,
How you gonna have a dream come true?

Talk about the moon floatin’ in the sky
Lookin’ at our tata on the pitch;
Talk about Manny spreading out our play.
Taking’ all the points we can make .

Happy talk, keep talkin’ happy talk,
Talk about things you’d like to do.
You got to have a dream,
If you don’t have a dream,
How you gonna have a dream come true?

You don’t have to be mad but it helps.

FFS Tony!
Now the problem with Everton is that Moyes doesn’t have enough people to talk to on the bench or someone to sit Moyes on their knee, hold his hand and say - Do you see what you did wrong there Davy ?
I thought the problem according to your analysis of the Reading game was that most of the Everton team were vertically challenged ?
It isn’t rocket science the reason Everton are so inconsistent is that we don’t have many options going forward. If Arteta or Johnson arn’t firing on all cylinders we will struggle.
Moyes was clearly aware of the deficincies of the team from last year as is evidenced by the players he has already brought in or is attempting to bring in for this year.
