Rubbish strikers .... but all heroes. Why?

Comments (23)

Easy peasy, I know but an earlier strand was on the subject of lousy strikers. Cadamateri, Paul Wilkinson and Imre Varadi were all nominated and I have no argument with that, but all were heroes in their own way.....

Why? Mars Bar to the winner!

Could it be they all scored against the shite? I want my mars bar before the blackburn game. But only from a lucky shop.

Why are they heros?? anybody who pulls on a blue shirt and runs out for the 1st team is a hero.

It is better to have tried and fail, than to never try at all.

I remember that game where Cadamateri mugged the RS. Ruddock looked a fool.

Ruddock was a fool.

He scored our first (O.G.) in that game.

I dont really know how Cadamarteri could be mentioned ahead of the likes of Michael Branch and Stuart Barlow..Cadamarteri did score a fair few goals..Remember the derby?.The 2-2 draw at home to Arsenal..How about the 2 valuable goals he scored at Charlton in the wake of Big Duncs departure in 1998..Even in the 2000/01 season he came in and scored in matches against Arsenal and Chelsea..He may have been a headless chicken but there have been less affective forwards than him at Everton.

Steve, can you imagine the Sheik coming, piling shit loads of money in, glistening new city centre stadium to be proud of, put us back where we belong. I would run down my street naked in wild celebration. It sounds like a mischievous edit by one of the red shite but I’ll be saying my prayers tonight!!!

Cadamarteri went off the rails his lifestyle caused his downfall not his lack of ability. Jeffers is another one of the same mould, too rich too soon big headed went to Arsenal to warm the bench in years when he needed games every week and the rest is history now languishing in the lower leagues. Branch another youngster who never blossomed. Jevons from the same era did well in the lower leagues and has been a prolific scorer. Rod Belfitt has to be the worst player I have ever seen with Bernie Wright a close second. Another one I now recall was Joe Harper a midget Scottish striker who was also awful.

I met Franny Jeffers shortly after he went to Arsenal, he was living in a hotel near St Albans (the one the England team stay/used to stay in) and he was a right jumped up little twerp. All flash harry with his light blue porsche and big fuck off ears (childish I know) He was hanging around on his own, posturing and looking lonely so I went to say hello and ask him how he was doing, and he was really aloof like he was the real Mr Big Man. Twat.

My missus said he looked like he’d nicked the car.

Anyone remember dat fat fullback we ad called Mick Bernard looked like a Sunday league alehouse player. George Telfer a lanky useless winger, Henry Newton was useless after he signed, Andy King & David Johnson when they came back for the second time were useless. Bob the Pole Warchyka he was useless, Alex Nyarko more than fuckin useless, Marco Materazzi another Walter Smith signing effing useless. Tobias Linderoth he was useless too

Crap players. Look no further than Tony Thomas, Mitch Ward, Slaven Bilic, Danny Williamson. All shite, 2 of them very expensive pieces of shite.

22   Posted 22/08/2007 at 19:57:38

The list is endless we did buy some shit in the past. Your tony thomas’s mitch wards etc would never get bought by prem league clubs anymore as in those days teams snapped up anyone who showed half decent form in the lower leagues. Now they buy third rate french trash instead, Cheyrou, Le Tallec, Pongolle, Traore

Alright, Walker Smith jnr, who got the mars bar and why, or have you done a Marianne Faithful with it?
Or were they all Top Scorers who never reached double figures?
