John Rooney

According to The Express John Rooney is "beginning to cause a stir and has already attracted admiring glances from a number of top clubs". It also says he was released by Everton at 14, is this because we thought he was no good or was it the fall out from Tubby's defection, either way it looks like we should have made an effort to keep him. So possibly thanks to Stretford we've lost 2 good players.

If I recall correctly his departure was as a result of the fall out of the saga involving his big brother, yes.

Just cos he’s Wazza’s brother doesn’t mean he’ll be any good. I mean look at the brothers Neville....oh err...sorry..

I think the deal that took the Fat Boy to Old Trafford included taking his brother...

Good riddance - I’ve washed my hands of that lot. As above - Anichebe + Vaughany all the way!

Rooney’s better than Anichebe & Vaughan though, and if you say otherwise you’re daft.

I’d rather have Rooney.

Comparing apples and pairs Allan, as the three are all different ion nature, style, attributes and function. As an out an out gaolscoring lead striker, Vaughan especially compares favourably with anyone for one so young. IF he can have better luck with injuries I am convinced JV is going to be absolute dynamite.

Who cares, we have Yakubu over completing a medical and we’re talking about Rooney’s little brother. I don’t give a damn about any of that family any more. I’m not completely filled with hatred toward him anymore, he wanted to go somewhere else so we sold him for a load of cash. It happens in todays game. That’s not to say I would ever applaud the guy, don’t get me wrong, I just don’t give a damn about him anymore.

Now come on boys the kid was in a untenable position all the shite getting thrown at his brother if he had stayed first bad game he’d be slaughtered so lets be better than that low life granny molester and wish his brother well

Absolutely, all players are different so no direct comparison can truly be made. I was just pointing out that Rooney is a more talented player than Vaughan & Anichebe. No sentiment here.

I agree with Roy, nobody in their right minds would want to be abused week in, week out just because their brother is a twat.

We could re-sign the boy though, if he’s really that good and provided that he’s got tougher metatarsals.

If my memory serves me right it was because he fancied the boxing more at the time.

Speaking of Wayne Rooney, is anybody as surprised as I am that he is not the player I thought he would be by now? I have never felt more miserable than that night he scored a hat-trick for Utd in the Champions league just after he jumped ship. I thought in a year or two he will be recognised as possibly the best player in the world and a player who played for us and left after professing he never would. I thought I would hate his guts for ever.

But has it really worked out that way? I don’t think so.At Utd he has played second fiddle to Ronaldo especially in their Championship year and never looked like their most influential player. His performances for England have been rather poor in my view and I think he is living on his reputation rather than his performances on that score. While he is obviously a very good player he is not the world-beater I was expecting by this time in his career. Maybe he is just another of those kids who doesn’t quite reach the expected level. I think Everton are further on now than we would have been if he had still been here...but I expect I may be shot down for saying that!

The kid’s had a couple of god games for the Maclesfield youth team and people are suggesting we made a mistake letting him go? Talk about jumping the gun!

Who cares if shreks ugly brother has had a good game so must 500 other kids every week for their youth teams. Vaughan has the potential to be a top class star if he stays fit we have a great player here. We have good youngsters in Rodwell, Kissock, Agard for example coming up through the ranks too. I bet you Colleens weekly handbag allowance this rooney will never play in the prem league

Well said Dave. I was gutted too. I thought after that hat trick he was going to shit goals. Theres no doubting his ability and class but he’s moved on and so have we.

If I recall, John Rooney only ever made the Academy at EFC as a sweeter for fatty’s mum and dad. As soon as Judas left we bombed his kid brother out.

Steve, any news on Leighton’s fitness?

Wayne Rooney is a world class performer, Vaughan & Anichebe are good prospects who may or may not be any good in the future - theres really no comparison.

Wayne Rooney is a fat, thick, money grabbing traitor, with feet as weak as his loyalty (who, admittedly, I use to worship). The fact his brother’s a gobshite should be no reflection on the youngster. I’ll allow him to kiss his Macclesfield badge. (I think his brother tries to eat his Man U one).

Everton has moved on, forget anything to do with the Rooney name, granted the lads kid brother is a hell of a footballer, but as a man, not one ounce of class.

I think your all idiots dont know the lad. He is the nicest lad you will ever meet and all his family. Do you really think Everton could have kept him there? I don't think so. Fat? I don't think so ? I have seen more fat on a butcher's apron. You got good money for a great player. Stop moaning at the lad, it wasnt his idea totally to move away from Everton ? ask your Board of Directors.
