The Mail Bag
Final Thought..
Comments (35)
I've only recently started to post on Toffeeweb. It was only the stadium thing that got my so wound up, so let me finish with this thought:
See you Kirkby.
See you away at Portsmouth and Newcastle. See you in Columbus, Dallas, ?El Madrigal? and Bucharest.
Right or wrong, cowshed or shapeship, Everton, Walton, Kirkby or Speake, I?ll be at the match because I?m an Evertonian and its my blood, its what I was born.
So, whatever the vote is tomorrow, if you?re pissed off enough to throw the towel in then do what you please, but I?ll be at the match, watching Everton - my Everton. The club my parents support, the club I support and the club my unborn kids will support. The club I love.
I?m an Evertonian, born not manufactured. And neither an obstructed view or 4 miles drive will ever change that.

"Toffeeweb isn’t taken seriously in most parts of our support"
"Anyway, that’s me done with this pokey, self-serving website"
My response was to comment on how many times this individual posts on Toffeeweb despite holding it in such contempt. Again I say, if you don’t like the company or the ethos of this website go and bore people somewhere else. Incidentally, I hope you have read this morning’s Guardian....the Liverpool and Liverpool Reserves jokes have started already.

BORN A BLUE LIVE A BLUE DIE A BLUE !!

It’s just a pity that the new stadium couldn’t be built in Lincoln. It would make attending matches a whole lot easier for me! :-)

That’s the reason we will never fade into obscurity as some have stated on this issue. I’m right there with ya no matter where we go!
Well said!!!

Crackin infiltration job, you must be so proud of yourselves.
13 Posted 24/08/2007 at 10:08:48
Sons of Everton, of Goodison, my brothers,
I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me.
A day may come when the courage of men fails,
when we forsake our friends
and break all bonds of fellowship,
but it is not this day.
An hour of wolves and shattered shields,
when the age of men comes crashing down,
but it is not this day!
This day we fight!!
By all that you hold dear on this good Earth,
I bid you stand, Men of the Royal Blue Jersey!!!
14 Posted 24/08/2007 at 10:02:24
but that was then and this is now.The Everton you greww up with will be dead and buried once we leave for Kirkby. Why cant you see it. You sound pathetic coming out with the born a blue bullshit when the New Everton[Kirkby United] will be a manufactured club with plastic fans.No real scouse Everton supporters want this move so what does that tell you.How can any born Evertonian want to leave thier spiritual home that is the city of Liverpool and think its something to be proud of.John hope you enjoy selling us down the river mate.Even those who couldnt vote but want this move are just as bad as all the other traitor scabs
who have put the nails in our coffin.
15 Posted 24/08/2007 at 10:25:16
If you dont like it, dont come to games, dont support them anymore - I promise you there’ll be plenty of takers for your season ticket.
Plastic fans my arse, anyone who wants to stop following their team because they cant handle moving with the times is exactly the type of person who’s holding the club back.
The futures bright Tony, the futures moving, to Kirkby or wherever but we have to move, like it or lump it, its time to swallow it.
Up the blues.

We can’t go with the backing of only 15,230 fans.
18 Posted 24/08/2007 at 10:48:28
Anyone looking forward to tomorrows game? Score? Yakubu? Manny? My Nan?
19 Posted 24/08/2007 at 10:55:46
Allan - 3-1 Everton, Yakubu and Manny in so your nan will have to settle for a place on the bench!
20 Posted 24/08/2007 at 11:11:17
I don’t want it but I will always support them and no other club has balloted.
If you don’t like it that’s sad but DON’T split the fans or we are really finished.
21 Posted 24/08/2007 at 11:29:37
They refused beacuse they dont want it in thier conscience that they played a part in this great clubs demise!
I fucking hope and pray to god I am wrong! I hope the place gets packed week in week out! please god!!!
RIP EVERTON ! 1878 - 2007
"it was a grand old team to play for, it was a grand old team to support"

23 Posted 24/08/2007 at 11:43:26
But I’m getting really fed up with those who think that all of us in Crosby, Bootle, Auntree, Huyton, Halewood and kirkby don’t live in Liverpool, simply because of the borough boundaries!

You sound pathetic coming out with the born a blue bullshit when the New Everton[Kirkby United] will be a manufactured club with plastic fans. ( because Tony and a few of his mates say so.. )
No real scouse Everton supporters want this move so what does that tell you.How can any born Evertonian want to leave thier spiritual home ( Well actually we have the biggest walk up support in the country and the majority voted YES)
Even those who couldnt vote but want this move are just as bad as all the other traitor scabs
( Right I was wrong..not enough people agreed with me..its proof Tony Marsh is a complet tit)
How dare he call anybody a traitor..roll on Kirkby..cos I assume you wont be there Tony..but the MAJORITY will..and your place will be taken by proper supporters , the ones who didnt go the game when dickheads like you were spouting your crap and spoiling it..
You have lost...LOSER
29 Posted 24/08/2007 at 12:15:37
I trust we will not be having to read anymore of your articles comments in future!!!
Have you put your name on the waiting list for a season ticket on the Kop yet?
30 Posted 24/08/2007 at 12:16:45
It’s not a matter of being a traitor if you are still fighting the Kirkby move, it’s a matter of sticking up for what you believe in.
I believe Kirkby is a bad move for us, and I probably always will. And I’m not going to pretend otherwise just to keep the lemmings happy.
15,000 out of 35,000 voted to go. I think it’s reasonable to infer that the majority weren’t exactly keen to rush off to Kirkby. The board need to bear that in mind as they pursue this project - the majority didn’t vote yes.
31 Posted 24/08/2007 at 12:48:55
Thats out of 35,000...only 10,000 thought it bad enough to tick a box and say no..thats less than a 1/3..
You can twist it anyway..but its still YES
32 Posted 24/08/2007 at 12:45:31
Guys I voted "NO" but the "YES" won. But I would never verbally abuse a "YES" voter like you just have. Lets learn to accept guys whats happened, I HAVE!!! Were all Evertonians and Everton will always live on, this is a start to a new beginning, not the end. I live 400 yards away from Goodison, so Goodison is in my heart, but I dont mind going 4 or 5 miles down the road to watch them either. It is the peoples club and the people of Everton have voted "YES", I’m hurt but I’ll be there saturday and every other Saturday till the day I die
33 Posted 24/08/2007 at 12:59:23
34 Posted 24/08/2007 at 13:03:43
Sometimes change is a bitter pill to swallow. I dont like moving from Goodison, I have 12 years of fantastic memories. But I appreciate the need for change.
35 Posted 24/08/2007 at 13:01:12
John, if those unborn kids ever do see the light of day, you’ll find out something that may surprise you: you won’t be the only influence on them.
There will also be their mates, and the telly, and the papers, and five European Cups - all sorts of things, little and big. And (if they live in the city) the huge majority of those things will be influencing them just one way. It’s been increasingly like that for decades, which is why there are not so many Blues now as there were in the 60s. Once we go to Kirkby, common sense says it will be much, much more so. You only have to read today’s papers for a foretaste of what’s to come.
Will you be so sure you did the right thing the day those unborn kids of yours ask for red shirts for Christmas?
