Didn’t some people get two or three forms for various reasons (season ticket holder one year, Evertonia member and shareholder the next)? I’d imagine quite a few went that way.

Don’t forget, voting apathy is still rife in this city, too.

WTF happened to the other 10,000 odd votes? Why didn't they get used? Why where 63 votes found to be invalid? Blag voting forms? Those ten thousand could have, maybe, just maybe made the difference in the No vote but let's not kid ourselves: did we really think the powers that be at EFC would not go to Kirkby even if the majority voted No? I think not.

Disappointed by the vote result but absolutely staggered that 11,000 eligible voters failed to partake. Are they too thick to make a decision one way or the other? Are these the same people who never vote at council elections because they think it's too posh to cast a vote? Anyway, it's done. Move on.

The Northern Ireland peace agreement only got 70% of people voting. I think 70% is a good response I suspect the current delays in the postal system might have accounted for a few missing votes though. Also remember some of the voters are old season ticket holders etc so the address ballot forms are sent to will be ncorrect.

There’s not the slightest evidence that any votes didn’gt get received. I’ve taken part in many ballots and elections. People don’t vote for all sorts of reasons. This was a very good turnout for a postal ballot, and a decisive result. The club are justified in calling it a mandate, however they should still show respect for the strongly held feelings of the 10,000 who voted no.

Whether I like the Ballot result or not is immaterial but what I find hard to stomach is that 11000 so called Evertonians couldn't be bothered to vote. The future of our club was at stake and yet the simple task of putting a cross on the form and sending it off was too much to ask. Those who voted at least showed their love of the club whilst 11,000 hid behind the parapet.

10,901 fans with a vote chose not to. BOLLOCKS! I am not one for conspiracy theories and prefer to deal in facts but nearly 1 in 3 people choosing not to vote is absolute rubbish. I know about 50 people with a vote and not 1 of them decided not to bother so where are all these fans who didn’t think this vote was important enough to bother? and WHY? This stinks!
How many of you out there know of fans who had a vote and decided either that they couldn’t make a decison either way or decided not to bother?
If the figures are correct and if you are one of the 10,901 fans who couldn’t be arsed to put an x on a form and send it in a pre-paid envelope to vote I hope you’re fucking happy now.
ABSOLUTE BOLLOCKS!

The Electoral reform society rigged it and threw the ’NO’ votes in the bin!
How else could this have happened? ..er, perhaps they just counted what was there?

I was taking bets with myself as to how long it would be before someone said/ implied the vote wuz rigged. FFS

Paul - if only 60% of the population can be bothered to vote at a General election - 70% return is quite impressive. I would guess that those who didn’t bother either wanted to leave the decision to the club - you seem to be making an assumption that they should have voted no - when it’s more likely they were in favour, or happy to go with the majority.

The majority of your fellow fans who did vote, chose to move to Kirkby - just because the No lobby has been more vocal, doesn’t mean you were in the majority.

It seems the less vocal majority won the day - let’s move on.

I never mentioned the vote being rigged and I clearly stated i didn’t believe in conspiracy theories. What i can’t believe is the apathy of some fans in not being fucking bothered to vote.
I don’t care about the turnout for the general elections I am 32 and never voted in my life. I may have my priorities all wrong but to me Everton is more important to me than who I pay my taxes to.
If you never sent your vote in because you couldn’t make a decision then fair enough but i don’t believe there are 10,901 fans undecided. If you never sent your form off because you couldn’t be arsed then you’re a fucking idiot. I am not trying to say all the non-voters would have been a Yes or a No I just can’t believe it wasn’t important enough to get off your arse and take the letter to the fucking post box.

I received two voting forms as a season ticket holder and share holder. I only voted once (no). I do not know how many people were in a similar position or members of Evertonia but it would explain some of the missing votes. I think that a basic lack of thoroughness and efficency has stored up some trouble ahead for the club.

the people who decided not to vote i hope will not make any comment either way about the decision to move to kirkby, we all had the opportunity,(those who had the vote anyhow) and if you chose to in effect abstain from the vote, keep your comments to yourself, as in any democratic society, if you choose not to vote, do not complain in the future what happens, you had your chance and blew it.

Move on and move forward, Liverpool Shitty Council have treated Everton Football Club abysmally over the past 20 years, we owe them nothing. All they will be worried about is the revenue that they will lose once Everton moves out of the Liverpool boundary.

I don’t usually go in for abuse, but Tommy Coleman YOU ARE A TWAT.

The vote was fair, you know it, and your attempts to say that it was rigged or corrupt are an absolute disgrace. You should be ashamed of yourself.

You don’t like the result, that’s fine. Happy to hear whatever you want to say about that. But the Electoral Reform Society conducted the vote and over 15,000 people (the majority) disagreed with you. Stop pretending otherwise.

To be honest I agrea witth the comment of nearly 11.000 voters not apearing to bother.

It is disappointing that nearly 30% the votes available were not used.

I do not however believe this was a conspiracy but just apathy. Which for such an important decision is a shame.

I was really surprised at the % of yes votes. I spoke to many of my blue mates and all but 1 were voting no with 1 undecided. Did anyone else find this?

As for the 11,000 fans (30%) who didn't even vote. Surely they all couldn't have been undecided on which way to vote. Those who couldn't be even arsed voting on the future of the club should be ashamed of themselves.

I am just amazed that 11,000 votes didn’t get received.

I have been an Evertonia member for 2 years and so I was entitled to a vote. I moved house in March and when I discovered that my ballot paper might have been sent to my old address I tried every means to contact the club and inform them that the details on my Evertonia membership needed updating. Can I stress that I did this weeks before the ballot papers were due to be sent out.

No joy unfortunately and I spent this last week practically stalking the tenants of my previous flat in an attempt to retrieve my chance to vote if in fact they ended up there. No joy again. Now having seen that approx. 11,000 voting papers weren't counted in the vote, it leads me to believe that the club may have been "lazy" in trying to update my details and perhaps others have fallen the same way. I'm not suggesting that 11000 people had also moved house but it does seem strange that a catalogue for the Everton Megastore has arrive at my new address since. I had no vote but I can get last season's shirt for £11.99, in Keith Wyness we trust.

Niall.

Not good but how would they know how you would vote. You could have been voting either way.

I?m really still struggling to believe that 59% actually voted yes. Not becuase I can?t believe that many would vote yes but becasue out of all of my blue mates, only one was voting yes and one was undecided.

There are also a huge number of pissed off fans posting on all the sites. It seems much more than those in favour. Has anyone else found this?

Like a lot of people, I am gutted with the Yes vote, but like a man I have to come to terms with the fact. The one thing in my opinion though that is unforgivable, are the ones who abstained. hether you would have voted for or against is irrelevent, but you should have voted. People have died for the right for democracy and you spineless lot could not even bring yourselves to put an X on a ballot paper.

DON'T gve me any excuses, like. It was to emotive and I didn't want to commit myself, etc. There are NO excuses. You where given a chance to vote on the most emotive decision in our history and you fucking bottled it. At least the rest of us. For or against had our say in the matter and if it all works out. Or goes tits up WE CAN SAY WE WHERE PART OF IT. You lot should not even be allowed an opinion. You fucking blew your chance for that option.
